How to update the software on your Sony Ericsson W300i via the PC Suite application

The PC Suite software disk also has a programme for updating the software on your phone. This can be a little risky so make sure that before you start this process you have backed up all your data, such as your phone book. In practice this data may be unaffected, but it is advisable not to take the risk.

To install the update software follow these nstructions:

The wizard will tell you to remove the SIM card from your phone and replace the battery.
Now press and hold down the C key on the keyboard and KEEP IT PRESSED DOWN while you connect the USB cable between your phone and your computer.
The Wizard will tell you when to stop pressing the C key.
The wizard will take over and will tell you not to touch your phone until it has finished. Interrupting a flash update will seriously screw up your phone.
When it has finished exit the programme, unhook your phone, put the SIM card back in and start it as normal.
