Nokia Windows RT tablet spec detailed
Nokia is preparing a 10-inch Windows RT tablet for October with specs and details leaked online
Nokia’s rumoured Windows RT tablet has been detailed in a leaked spec.
The information comes via Microsoft News, which got word from an anonymous tipster. Allegedly we’re looking at a 10.1-inch tablet running Windows RT 8.1 on a full HD 1080p display panel with ‘wide viewing angles’.
Inside, there’s said to be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor clocked at 2.15GHz plus 32GB of onboard storage. The device will have full-size USB ports, microHDMI and microUSB and of course Wi-Fi. As with Nokia’s smartphones it will come in a range of bright colours, though only cyan has been outed at this point.
The tablet will come with a detachable keyboard, claimed to be similar in design to Asus’ Transformer tablet docks and including a built-in battery to boost the one onboard the slate itself. We don’t know if there will be any additional ports or capabilities built into the keyboard dock at present, though a diagram shows what appears to be a stylus pen accessory which can be stored in the dock.
There also appears to be at least a variant with mobile data capabilities as it’s thought AT&T will be carrying the device in the US on launch, which is said to be at some point between the middle of October and the beginning of November. Microsoft has officially revealed Windows 8.1 will launch on October 17, which is a good indicator.
We’ll be keeping an eye out for more information as October approaches. Stay tuned.
