Nokia N97 Mini gets official release date

The Nokia N97 Mini’s release date has been revealed – you’ll be able to get your hands on its reduced frame from October 23.

It was Nokia’s flagship London store that spilled the beans, on its Twitter page no less. Perhaps this newly slimmed-up version of the N97 suits social media viral marketing though – certainly more so than its tubby sibling.

Aside from weighing less and losing a few millimeters in all directions, the N97 Mini’s feature list is otherwise pretty similar to the original N97. It’s got a 5-megapixel camera, a 360x640-resolution screen and runs the 9.4 version of Symbian.

The N97 Mini does have a slightly smaller screen, which is to be expected, and less internal storage with 8gb against’s the N97’s still-impressive 32GB.

Still, if you found the heft of the original N97 to be a major turn off, why not rock up to Nokia’s flagship London store on Friday 23 October.
