Locking your Motorola V3i
Chris Leonard
Protect your Motorola RAZR V3i mobile phones by putting some simple security measures in place
You can lock your phone to stop other people using by setting up a four-digit code. The default Unlock Code is 1234, so it is wise to change this to a number you can easily remember. To change your Unlock Code:
- Press Menu (The [–] button), highlight Settings and press Select (Figure 1).
- Scroll down to Security (Figure 2) and select New Passwords (Figure 3).
- Select Unlock Code. You will be asked to enter your old Unlock Code (Figure 4), then your new Code (Figure 5).
To lock your phone:
- Press Menu (The [–] button), highlight Settings and press Select (Figure 1).
- Scroll down to Security (Figure 2) and select Phone Lock (Figure 6).
- To automatically lock your phone when it’s not in use, select Automatic Lock (Figure 7) and click On (Figure 8).
- You will then be asked to verify your Unlock Code (Figure 9).
- Scroll up to Lock Now and press Select (Figure 10).
You can also lock individual applications on the Motorola V3i such as Phonebook or Web Access:
- Press Menu (The [–] button), highlight Settings and press Select (Figure 1).
- Scroll down to Security (Figure 2) and select Lock Application (Figure 11).
- You will be prompted to enter your Unlock Code (Figure 12).
- Highlight the application you want to lock and press Change (Figure 13).
