HTC M7 could debut at CES 2013
HTC's next flagship might be showcased for the first time at CES 2013
HTC's next big flagship device, codenamed the M7, might be making its first appearance at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas this month, if leaked details prove correct.
The news comes from the Twitter account of an XDA forum member called Football, who has leaked similar HTC information in the past and has proven accurate on several occasions.
Rumoured specs include a 4.7-inch full HD display (probably SLCD3 as with the Japan-only HTC J Butterfly) with a 1920x1080 pixel resolution at 468 pixels-per-inch (ppi), a Qualcomm quad-core S4 Snapdragon processor at 1.7GHz and a 13-megapixel camera (likely with a f/2.0 aperture).
Other specs supposedly include 32GB of built-in storage and a 2,300mAh battery, there’s been no mention of microSD card support so far and HTC’s recent premium models have omitted it, so we’re not holding our breath.
Of course, you can also expect the latest version of Android 4.1/4.2 Jelly Bean and a version of HTC’s Sense interface overlay.
Football’s Tweet also claims the M7 will use Android’s on-screen touch controls rather than capacitive or solid buttons – previously HTC has clung to capacitive controls on its premium handsets while other phone makers have embraced Android’s touchscreen-focused approach.
