Follow our simple how to guide and you could be reunited with your lost Nokia Lumia 900 in a flash

Losing a phone isn't just an inconvenience these days. It's like losing your wallet, address book and photo album rolled into one, and it can be a stressful and unpleasant experience.

Thankfully modern smartphones are equipped with technology to make reuniting you easier than ever before, and Nokia's Lumia 900 is particularly well equipped, with Microsoft's Windows Phone operating system boasting some tremendously powerful features which will allow you to find your lost device, and even erase it remotely to protect your personal data.

So, if you find yourself in the unenviable position of having lost your Lumia 900 follow these simple steps.

  1. Sit down at your PC and point your browser to www.windowsphone.com
  2. Click on ‘My Phone'
  3. Choose ‘Find My Phone'

The site will then begin searching for your device, and in no time at all you will be presented with an up to the minute location which you can pass along to your local police station, or if you know the location you can even head there and have a look for your device.

If, by magic, the device appears to be in your own home or office you might want to choose the ‘Ring' option, which will immediately call your phone, alerting you to its whereabouts and sparing you a few blushes.

If, however, the device isn't in a safe place or you're concerned that your personal data may be at risk you can choose to erase your device by clicking the ‘Erase' link, this will securely remove any and all personal data from the device, a small mercy but helpful nonetheless.
