Samsung Galaxy S27 Price: Will It Cost More, And Is It Worth Waiting?

Galaxy S27 prices: what the leaks say

There are no confirmed Galaxy S27 prices yet. Samsung is expected to launch the range in early 2027, so any prices circulating now are estimates or leaks that could change.

The clearest recent pricing report comes from tipster @phonefuturist, whose early US targets were reported by Android Central and Android Authority. They put the four possible models at:

ModelEarly US price targetHow firm is it?
Galaxy S27$899Unconfirmed estimate
Galaxy S27+$1,099Unconfirmed estimate
Galaxy S27 Pro$1,299Unconfirmed estimate
Galaxy S27 Ultra$1,399Unconfirmed estimate

Those figures are not guaranteed to be what Samsung charges at launch. They’re also complicated by reports that the S26 range has since received price increases in some markets, which may make the S27 targets look less like a year-on-year increase than they first appear.

A separate, more alarming report claims the Galaxy S27 could start at $1,099, with the S27+ at $1,199, the new Pro model at $1,399 and the Ultra at $1,499. That claim, covered by SammyGuru, comes from a post on X and isn’t confirmed by Samsung. I’d treat it as a high-end possibility, not the price list to plan around.

There’s also a Korean leak suggesting the S27 models could cost at least ₩130,000 more than their S26 equivalents. That’s roughly £72 at a direct currency conversion, but it doesn’t tell us what Samsung will charge in the UK. Local prices depend on tax, storage options and regional pricing decisions. Tech Advisor reported the leak.

The sensible expectation right now is that prices could rise, but the size of any increase is still up in the air. Anyone quoting exact UK prices this far out is guessing.

Why could the Galaxy S27 cost more?

The main pressure point is memory. AI data centres are using huge quantities of memory components, and that demand is contributing to higher costs for the RAM and storage used in phones. Samsung makes memory itself, which may give it more room to manage supply, but that doesn’t guarantee it will absorb the extra cost.

There are reports that the Galaxy S27 Ultra could use newer LPDDR6 RAM. That would be a hardware upgrade, but it could also add to the cost of the most expensive model. If memory prices remain high into 2027, Samsung will have a choice: raise prices, hold prices and accept lower margins, or keep upgrades modest to control the bill.

That last possibility has already appeared in the S27 rumours. A report cited by Digital Camera World says the standard S27 may not get major camera or display hardware changes. It’s early information, and Samsung could still change its plans, but it fits the idea that component costs may limit what the next phone gets.

We’ve covered the broader picture in our Galaxy S27 leaks and minimal changes report.

You don’t have to pay $1,000+ for a new phone. Buying refurbished saves you, on average, 40% to 50%.

Which means you skip the inflationary price hikes, side-step the 2026 memory cost crisis, and still get the flagship performance and specs you want.

What upgrades might justify the price?

The biggest potential change to the S27 line-up is a fourth model: the Galaxy S27 Pro. Leaked renders suggest it could sit between the Plus and Ultra, with a smaller body than the Ultra and no built-in S Pen. The idea is to offer high-end features without asking buyers to carry Samsung’s largest phone.

You can read more in our Galaxy S27 Pro design leak coverage and our S27 Pro versus S27 Ultra comparison. The Pro’s price will matter a lot. If it lands close to the Ultra, buyers may decide they might as well get the bigger phone and S Pen. If it’s meaningfully cheaper, it could become the more practical premium option.

Other reported changes include newer display panels on the Pro and Ultra, and possible memory and camera updates. Our Galaxy S27 features guide covers the main rumours, but none of these details are confirmed.

The question is what those changes will mean in daily use. A faster processor can help with demanding games, video editing and certain AI tasks. A new display panel may offer better brightness or privacy features. But if you mainly browse, watch videos, use social media and take photos, you may not notice a major difference between the S27 and a recent flagship.

A new model number doesn’t automatically make a phone worth hundreds of pounds more.

Should you wait for the Galaxy S27?

Wait if your current phone is struggling, you want Samsung’s newest features, or you’re interested in the possible S27 Pro form factor. The Pro could fill a real gap for people who want a premium Galaxy phone but don’t want an Ultra-sized device.

If your phone still works well, there’s no need to rush into a new purchase. We don’t yet know whether Samsung will deliver major camera, battery or screen upgrades, and there’s no confirmed UK price to compare against.

If the S27 launches with a large price increase and only modest improvements, the value case for buying the newest model will be difficult to make.

A refurbished Galaxy S24 Ultra could cost far less

You can already get a high-end Samsung phone without paying S27 launch prices. A refurbished Galaxy S24 Ultra has a large display, strong cameras, an S Pen and plenty of performance for everyday use. It won’t have every feature Samsung may put in the S27, but it’s still a capable flagship.

Our refurbished Galaxy S24 Ultra deals collection currently lists 256GB models from around $592, with listings subject to change. That’s a much smaller outlay than the $1,399 or $1,499 prices being rumoured for the S27 Ultra.

A refurbished phone also gives you a way around the new-phone price cycle. You can avoid paying extra for the latest memory and components, keep a flagship in use for longer, and spend less on features you may not notice in everyday use. Check the seller’s condition grade, warranty, return window and battery information before buying.

So, how much will the Galaxy S27 cost?

There isn’t a reliable final answer yet. One leak points to US prices starting at $899, with the S27 Ultra at $1,399. A more extreme estimate puts them at $1,099 and $1,499. A separate Korean report suggests an increase of at least ₩130,000 across the line.

For now, expect the S27 to be expensive and leave room for the price estimates to change. Whether it’s worth buying will depend on the final UK prices and how much Samsung actually changes. If the upgrades are modest, a refurbished Galaxy S24 Ultra is already a far cheaper way to get a premium Samsung phone.
