Rumored iPhone 18 Launch, Preorder & Release Dates

Apple has not announced the iPhone 18 release date yet. Current reporting points to two separate launches, with the expensive models arriving in September 2026 and the standard models following in spring 2027.

The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are expected to receive a wide international release on September 18, 2026. Apple’s foldable iPhone could arrive at the same time, although manufacturing problems may push it into October or later.

The iPhone 18, iPhone 18e and second-generation iPhone Air are expected between March and April 2027. All models are expected to be signifcantly more expensive than 2026’s lineup too.

None of these dates has been confirmed by Apple.

When Will Apple Announce The iPhone 18 Pro?

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has identified September 8 or September 9, 2026 as the most likely dates for Apple’s next iPhone event.

September 9 now looks more likely because US Labor Day falls on Monday, September 7. Apple may leave a full travel day between the public holiday and its event.

The expected event lineup includes:

• Apple’s first foldable iPhone
• Apple Watch Series 12
• Apple Watch Ultra 4
• Other accessories and home products

The standard iPhone 18 is not expected at this event.

When Will iPhone 18 Pro Preorders Open?

The preorder date is less clear than usual.

Apple normally opens iPhone preorders on the Friday following its announcement. That would make Friday, September 11 the obvious date.

However, September 11, 2026 marks 25 years since the terrorist attacks in the US. Apple could avoid opening preorders on that date.

Reported alternatives include:

• Saturday, September 12

Gurman has suggested Apple could move preorders to September 10. A newer report points to Saturday, September 12.

The preorder date should apply worldwide in Apple’s first-wave markets.

When Will The iPhone 18 Pro Go On Sale?

Friday, September 18, 2026 is the most likely retail release date for the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max.

Apple normally starts deliveries and in-store sales on the Friday following the preorder window.

If Apple holds its event later than expected, the release could move to September 25. There is currently no strong evidence that the Pro models will be delayed that far.

iPhone 18 Pro Release Dates By Region

Apple normally releases its flagship iPhones simultaneously across more than 60 countries and regions.

The table below uses Apple’s reported September timetable and the first-wave markets included in the iPhone 17 launch. It is an informed estimate, not a confirmed country list.

If Apple repeats that pattern, its second release wave could begin on Friday, September 25, 2026.

Second-wave availability generally covers smaller markets, countries without a direct Apple retail presence and countries requiring additional regulatory or distribution work.

Apple has not released the iPhone 18 country list, so individual second-wave markets cannot yet be confirmed.

Foldable iPhone Release Date

Apple’s foldable iPhone, currently known as the iPhone Fold or iPhone Ultra, is expected to be announced on September 8 or 9, 2026.

Its actual release date is less certain.

Will The Foldable Launch Worldwide?

There is no confirmed country list for Apple’s first foldable.

A limited initial launch is possible because:

China is the market with the clearest chance of a model-specific delay.

The foldable is expected to be eSIM only because its thin body does not leave room for a physical SIM tray.

Apple previously had to delay the original iPhone Air in mainland China while waiting for regulatory approval for its eSIM implementation. China traditionally requires locally approved carrier support and has not supported iPhone eSIMs in the same way as other markets.

If Apple does not create a physical-SIM version of the foldable, its Chinese release could depend on:

The iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max could therefore arrive several weeks after the September 18 international release. October or later is a more realistic estimate, but no Indonesian date has been reported.

The foldable could take longer if it requires separate regulatory approval.

India Release Date

India is now one of Apple’s established first-wave markets.

The iPhone 17 became available in India on the same day as it did in the US, UK, China, Japan and Europe.

The iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max should therefore be available in India on September 18, assuming Apple follows the same schedule.
