Here’s Apple’s Entire Product Roadmap For 2026 & 2027…

Apple’s 2026 product cycle could be its busiest and strangest in years.

The company is reportedly preparing its first foldable iPhone, two new iPhone 18 Pro models, camera-equipped AirPods, updated Apple Watches and a collection of smart-home products built around Siri AI.

That’s only the autumn line-up.

Apple is also expected to break apart its traditional iPhone launch schedule. The expensive models should arrive in September 2026, while the standard iPhone 18, iPhone 18e and possibly the iPhone Air 2 will be held back until spring 2027.

Throw in new Macs, the public release of iOS 27 and Apple’s biggest leadership change since 2011, and there’s a lot to keep track of.

Here’s how Apple’s 2026 and 2027 product roadmap currently looks.

None of these hardware dates has been confirmed by Apple unless stated otherwise.

September 2026 Could Mark The Start Of A New Apple Era

Apple normally holds its main iPhone event during the second week of September.

Current reporting points to September 8 or September 9, 2026, with September 9 looking more likely because US Labor Day falls on Monday, September 7.

The expected schedule is:

• Apple event: September 8 or 9
• Preorders: September 10, 11 or 12
• iOS 27 public release: September 14 or 15
• New iPhones and Apple Watches on sale: September 18
• Foldable iPhone deliveries: September or October

Apple could avoid opening preorders on Friday, September 11 because the date marks 25 years since the 2001 terrorist attacks. Reports have instead mentioned Thursday, September 10 or Saturday, September 12.

There’s another reason this event will matter.

Apple has confirmed that John Ternus will replace Tim Cook as CEO on September 1, 2026. Cook will become Apple’s Executive Chairman and remain involved in parts of the business, including contact with governments and policymakers.

That makes the September event Ternus’ first major product keynote as CEO. Starting your time in charge by revealing Apple’s first foldable phone is one way to make an entrance.

Apple has not announced the event date, invitation or final product list.

iPhone 18 Pro And iPhone 18 Pro Max

The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are the safest bets for September.

Apple is expected to keep the general 6.3-inch and 6.9-inch sizes while changing several parts inside the phones.

The current reported specifications include:

A20 Pro Moves To 2nm Manufacturing

The A20 Pro is expected to be Apple’s first 2nm iPhone processor.

Moving from 3nm to TSMC’s 2nm process should let Apple fit more transistors into a smaller area. That can produce better performance, lower power use or a mixture of both.

Normal users probably won’t notice a dramatic difference when opening Messages or Safari. The benefits should become clearer during gaming, photo processing, video editing and on-device Siri AI jobs.

The new packaging method may also place the RAM closer to the processor, improving the speed and efficiency with which data moves between them.

Variable-Aperture Main Camera

Apple is reportedly preparing a variable-aperture camera for the Pro models.

A conventional iPhone lens has a fixed opening. A variable aperture can physically change the amount of light entering the camera.

That could give the iPhone 18 Pro more control over:

• Exposure in bright conditions
• Low-light photography
• Depth of field
• Focus across group photographs
• Motion blur
• Video exposure

It won’t turn the phone into a full-frame camera, but it would give Apple more control before computational photography starts processing the image.

Smaller Dynamic Island

The Pro phones are also expected to receive a smaller Dynamic Island.

Reports disagree about the exact setup. Some claim Apple will move parts of the Face ID system beneath the display. Others point to a smaller cutout without fully hidden Face ID hardware.

Either way, this looks more like a reduction than the complete removal of the Dynamic Island.

A truly uninterrupted iPhone display may have to wait until Apple’s 20th-anniversary model in 2027.

Bigger Battery, Especially On Pro Max

The smaller iPhone 18 Pro may receive only a modest battery-capacity increase. The Pro Max could do much better.

Leaked regulatory figures point to:

• iPhone 18 Pro, US model: 4,288mAh
• iPhone 18 Pro, physical-SIM model: 4,056mAh
• iPhone 18 Pro Max, US model: 5,567mAh
• iPhone 18 Pro Max, physical-SIM model: 5,391mAh

The US Pro Max figure would represent an increase of around 9.4% over its predecessor. The version with a physical SIM tray could rise by approximately 11.8%.

That larger cell, paired with the 2nm A20 Pro processor, could make battery life one of the Pro Max’s best reasons to upgrade.

Don’t Expect A Charging Revolution

There is currently no dependable evidence that Apple will suddenly start chasing 80W or 100W Android charging speeds.

The most likely outcome is a smaller increase, possibly with better heat control and more time spent near peak power.

Expect USB-C, MagSafe and roughly 20 minutes to reach 50%. A complete charge will still take considerably longer.

iPhone 18 Pro Prices Could Get Ugly

This is where things may become painful.

Analysts have warned that 2nm processors, higher memory prices and new camera hardware will raise Apple’s manufacturing costs. Some estimates suggest the iPhone 18 Pro family could cost $200 to $350 more than the current generation.

That would push the most expensive Pro Max configurations towards $1,900.

Those figures are far from settled, and Apple could absorb part of the cost or alter its storage options. Still, a price increase looks more believable than a price cut.

iPhone Ultra: Apple’s First Foldable Phone

The headline product should be Apple’s foldable iPhone.

Its final name remains unknown. Reports have variously called it the iPhone Fold, foldable iPhone and iPhone Ultra. “Ultra” would fit its expected price and position, but Apple has not announced the branding.

The phone is expected to use a book-style design similar to Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold range.

Why Touch ID Instead Of Face ID?

The foldable is expected to use Touch ID inside its power button.

That may sound like a step backwards, but it makes sense on a folding phone. Face ID hardware takes up internal room and requires cutouts in the display. A side-mounted fingerprint reader is thinner and can work whether the device is open or closed.

Will The Display Have A Crease?

Apple reportedly delayed its foldable until it could reduce the crease running through the folding display.

Whether Apple has eliminated it is another question.

Samsung, Google, Honor and Oppo have spent years improving folding screens. The crease is now less distracting, but it hasn’t disappeared.

Apple may produce a flatter-looking screen through its hinge and display structure, but I’d be very sceptical of any claim that the crease has been completely removed until we see finished hardware.

The Camera Could Be Worse Than The Cheaper Pro Max

The foldable is expected to have two rear cameras and no dedicated telephoto lens.

That would leave the much cheaper iPhone 18 Pro Max with a better and more flexible camera system.

The omission is probably connected to space. Folding phones have to accommodate a hinge, two display sections and split internal components. Something has to give.

For buyers spending around $2,500, though, “we ran out of room” won’t be a very satisfying explanation.

Availability Could Be Extremely Limited

Reports have warned that production volumes will be much lower than for a normal iPhone.

Apple could announce the phone in September but delay deliveries until October. It may also restrict the first launch to selected countries while production ramps up.

AirPods Ultra With Built-In Cameras

The oddest product on Apple’s roadmap may be AirPods fitted with cameras.

They are currently being referred to as AirPods Ultra, although the name hasn’t been confirmed.

The cameras wouldn’t be designed for taking photographs or recording video. Instead, they would capture low-resolution visual information that Siri AI could use to understand the wearer’s surroundings.

You could potentially ask Siri:

• What am I looking at?
• Which way do I need to walk?
• What does this sign say?
• What kind of plant is this?
• Where did I leave an object?
• Save the name of this book
• Tell me what is in front of me

The concept is effectively Apple’s answer to AI glasses, minus the glasses.

A video reportedly found inside a macOS release candidate showed camera-equipped AirPods being used with Visual Intelligence. The footage appeared to show Siri identifying a book and responding to a spoken request.

That lends weight to the hardware reports, but it doesn’t prove Apple will release the product in September.

Earlier reporting placed camera-equipped AirPods in 2027. More recent reports now point to a possible September 2026 announcement.

Privacy will be the obvious concern. Apple will need a visible indicator showing when the cameras are active, clear processing rules and controls that prevent the earbuds from constantly scanning people nearby.

These would probably sit above AirPods Pro 3 rather than replacing them. Expect an Ultra-level price to match.

Apple Watch Series 12

Apple Watch Series 12 should appear alongside the new iPhones in September.

Don’t expect a complete redesign.

Current reports point to:

• A faster processor
• Better health and fitness tracking
• Improved Siri AI integration
• watchOS 27
• Possible new case materials or colours
• Similar sizes and general design

Early rumours suggested Touch ID and a new band attachment system. More recent reporting has played those claims down, and neither feature should be treated as likely.

That’s probably good news for existing owners. A new attachment system could make years of Apple Watch bands incompatible.

Apple also isn’t expected to release an Apple Watch SE 4 in 2026.

Apple Watch Ultra 4

Apple Watch Ultra 4 should receive the same processor and software changes as Series 12 while retaining its larger, tougher design.

Possible changes include:

• Faster system performance
• Better health sensing
• Improved workout tracking
• Tighter Siri AI support
• New case or band choices
• Better efficiency

The physical design should remain close to the Apple Watch Ultra 3.

Apple continues working on non-invasive blood-glucose sensing, but current reports suggest the feature is still years away. Don’t buy an Ultra 4 expecting it to measure blood sugar.

iOS 27 And Siri AI

The software tying many of these products together is iOS 27.

Apple previewed iOS 27 at WWDC on June 8, 2026. The full public release is expected shortly before the new iPhones go on sale.

Its biggest addition is Siri AI, a rebuilt assistant capable of:

• Understanding personal context
• Searching Messages, Mail and Photos
• Reading information currently displayed on the screen
• Taking action across several apps
• Searching the web
• Holding follow-up conversations
• Analysing objects through the iPhone camera
• Syncing conversation history between Apple devices

The new Siri is also central to Apple’s AirPods and smart-home plans. That explains why several finished or nearly finished devices have reportedly been held back.

Apple TV 4K

Apple hasn’t updated the Apple TV 4K since 2022.

A new model is reportedly close to release and could appear in September or October 2026.

Expected changes include:

• Newer processor with Apple Intelligence support
• Apple N1 networking chip
• Wi-Fi 7
• Bluetooth 6
• Thread support
• Siri AI
• Refreshed Siri Remote
• Similar external design

Earlier reports pointed to an A17 Pro processor. Apple could use a newer chip, but an A17 Pro would already provide enough processing power for Apple Intelligence.

A camera-equipped Apple TV has also been discussed. This could provide native FaceTime calls and gesture controls without requiring an iPhone as the camera.

That version is less certain. A normal set-top-box refresh with a faster chip and improved networking looks much more likely.

HomePod Mini 2

The original HomePod mini arrived in 2020, so an update is well overdue.

The second-generation version is expected to receive:

• S9 processor or newer
• Apple N1 wireless chip
• Improved sound
• Newer Ultra Wideband hardware
• Siri AI support
• Possible new colour choices

The design should remain familiar.

The processor raises an interesting question. Apple normally requires much more powerful hardware for on-device Apple Intelligence. The HomePod mini may therefore pass demanding Siri requests to a nearby iPhone or Apple’s Private Cloud Compute servers.

Apple has reportedly had the hardware ready for months but held it back while work on Siri continued.

New Full-Size HomePod

A refreshed full-size HomePod is also reportedly planned.

Far less is known about this model. The most likely changes are a newer processor, improved Siri support and updated wireless hardware.

This shouldn’t be confused with Apple’s separate smart-home display, which is expected to combine a screen, speaker and home-control system.

The full-size HomePod would remain primarily a speaker.

Apple Smart-Home Hub

Apple has been working on a dedicated smart-home display for several years.

The most commonly reported version uses a screen measuring around seven inches. It may be offered with either:

• A speaker-style tabletop base
• A wall mount

Expected functions include:

• HomeKit device controls
• FaceTime video calling
• Siri AI
• Shared calendars
• Notes and reminders
• Music and video playback
• Security-camera feeds
• Presence detection
• Automated home routines

A starting price of around $350 has been reported.

Apple has also tested a more expensive tabletop device with a robotic arm that moves the display. That product could cost close to $1,000 and may not arrive until later.

The simpler home hub is more likely to appear first. Even then, its launch may slip into 2027 if Siri or the new home operating system isn’t ready.

Apple has been rumoured to launch this thing repeatedly. Until it actually appears on a stage, keep the salt nearby.

New Macs In Late 2026 Or Early 2027

Apple’s September event normally focuses on phones, watches and audio products. Mac announcements tend to follow in October, November or early the next year.

The main Mac update to watch is the M6 MacBook Pro.

M6 MacBook Pro

Apple is reportedly preparing two different kinds of M6 MacBook Pro update.

The base M6 model may retain the existing MacBook Pro design. More expensive M6 Pro and M6 Max models could receive:

• OLED displays
• Touchscreen support
• Thinner bodies
• Revised front-camera design
• M6 Pro and M6 Max processors
• Possible cellular connectivity

The OLED models could enter production near the end of 2026, pointing to a late-2026 or early-2027 release.

A touchscreen MacBook would represent a major reversal for Apple, which has spent years arguing that touch controls belong on the iPad.

Pricing could rise sharply, especially if OLED and touch support are restricted to the Pro and Max configurations.

Other Macs reported for this period include:

• M5 or M6 Mac mini
• M5 Max and M5 Ultra Mac Studio
• Larger high-end iMac
• Additional M6 MacBook models

Their exact order remains unclear.

Spring 2027: Apple’s Second iPhone Launch

The standard iPhone 18 isn’t expected at the September 2026 event.

Apple is reportedly splitting the generation into two releases:

September 2026

• iPhone 18 Pro
• iPhone 18 Pro Max
• Foldable iPhone Ultra

Spring 2027

• iPhone 18
• iPhone 18e
• iPhone Air 2, possibly

This isn’t a one-off delay. It appears to be Apple’s new long-term release system.

The change spreads manufacturing, marketing and retail demand across the year. It also gives Apple two large iPhone sales periods instead of relying almost entirely on the Christmas quarter.

More cynically, it gives the expensive Pro models six months without a new standard iPhone sitting beside them.

Standard iPhone 18

The standard iPhone 18 is currently expected around March or April 2027.

Reported upgrades include:

• 6.3-inch OLED display
• A20 processor
• TSMC 2nm manufacturing
• 9GB of RAM
• Apple C2 modem
• Smaller Dynamic Island
• iOS 27
• ProMotion support reported

Apple may reduce the cost of its display or use a cut-down GPU configuration to protect its margins.

That doesn’t necessarily mean the screen will be bad. Apple could use a lower peak brightness or a cheaper panel specification while retaining OLED and a high refresh rate.

iPhone 18e

The iPhone 18e should be Apple’s cheaper entry point into the 2027 range.

It is expected to receive:

• A20-series processor
• 9GB of RAM
• Apple C2 modem
• 6.1-inch display
• Single rear camera or simplified camera setup
• iOS 27
• Spring 2027 release

Apple may share more parts between the iPhone 18 and 18e than it has with previous standard and “e” models.

That would reduce production costs but could also narrow the differences between them. Pricing and camera hardware may become the main reasons to choose one over the other.

iPhone Air 2

The iPhone Air 2 has the least certain position in Apple’s 2027 phone line-up.

It was originally expected in autumn 2026, but weaker-than-expected demand for the first iPhone Air reportedly forced Apple to reconsider the design and release date.

The revised model could include:

• A second rear camera, probably Ultra Wide
• Larger battery
• Vapour-chamber cooling
• Reduced weight
• Lower price
• Spring 2027 release

The second camera would address one of the original Air’s biggest weaknesses.

However, Apple may not finish the redesign in time for spring. The company could release it later in 2027 or skip the generation.

September 2027: The 20th-Anniversary iPhone

The original iPhone went on sale in 2007. Apple is reportedly planning a special model to mark its 20th anniversary in 2027.

Early reports describe a phone with:

• Curved glass around the edges
• Very thin or invisible bezels
• Under-display front camera
• Under-display Face ID components
• No visible screen cutout
• Narrow metal band around the body
• More glass than current iPhones

This model could be separate from the standard iPhone 19 Pro, much like the iPhone X appeared alongside the iPhone 8 generation in 2017.

Development is still at an early stage. The final design, name and price could all change before September 2027.

Should You Wait For Apple’s 2026 Products?

Wait if you’re interested in:

• Apple’s first foldable phone
• The best possible iPhone camera
• Longer Pro Max battery life
• A 2nm iPhone processor
• Camera-equipped AirPods
• A new Apple TV or HomePod
• Apple’s rebuilt Siri
• OLED or touchscreen MacBooks

There’s less reason to wait if you simply need a dependable iPhone at a reasonable price.

The iPhone 18 Pro models could be much more expensive, while the foldable iPhone may cost around $2,500. The standard iPhone 18 won’t arrive until spring 2027.

That makes recent refurbished iPhones look increasingly sensible. Apple’s software support means a refurbished iPhone 15 Pro, 16 or 16 Pro can continue receiving iOS updates for years, while costing 40% to 50% less than a new flagship.

The Bottom Line

Apple’s old release schedule was easy to understand: new iPhones and Watches in September, Macs later in the year and occasional spring updates.

That system is about to get much messier.

September 2026 should bring the iPhone 18 Pro, Pro Max, Apple’s foldable iPhone, two Apple Watches and possibly camera-equipped AirPods. Apple TV and HomePod updates should follow around the same period, assuming Siri AI is ready.

Spring 2027 then brings the cheaper half of the iPhone generation.

It’s a big change, but the reasoning makes sense. Apple gets more time to manufacture its first foldable, gives its most expensive phones the September spotlight and creates another sales event six months later.

The one thing buyers shouldn’t expect is lower prices.

Apple’s 2026 and 2027 roadmap is packed with new hardware, new chips and completely new product ideas. Most of it is aimed at the expensive end of the market.

Interesting? Absolutely.

Cheap? Not a chance.
