Assassin’s Creed II accidentally slipped onto the App Store earlier this month, but now Ubisoft has let us know its actual release date – February 1. Also, it won’t be selling for £6.99 as it originally seemed, but the more standard premium price of £5.99.
The Assassin’s Creed series was previously handled by Gameloft on iPhone, but Ubisoft has since snatched the rights back. The company’s inexperience in the iPhone games market may have resulted in the early release blunder.
Assassin’s Creed II for iPhone is based on the Nintendo DS game of the same name, but features numerous improvements to the visuals and gamplay. There will be new levels on offer too. For more on the game, check out Pocket Gamer’s interview with the game’s producer.
