Glu is bringing Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow to mobile, while screenshots of the game have surfaced on the net. The publisher has already brought a pair of Castlevania games to handsets, but this latest one improves visuals substantially.

Unfortunately, we’ve only got low-resolution screenshots to go on for the moment, which don’t show the game in its full glory. Castlevania games are known for their depth, despite ostensibly being platform games. Previous mobile games of the series have managed to port this element over fairly successfully.

Dawn of Sorrow’s closest competitor is not one of these previous Glu games though, but rather Gameloft’s Soul of Darkness. The publisher’s own excellent attempt at a Castlevania game, albeit one shrouded under a lack of console branding, boasts great visuals, depth and accessibility. 

We’ll have to wait until release to see how Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow compares.
