The rugged QiGi AK007 has been launched in China.
According to Engadgetmobile.com the AK007 was designed with civic workers in mind.
Underneath what appears to be a rubber-protected outer shell lies most of the essential functionality that you would expect from any of the current crop of smartphones.
The AK007 runs on the Windows Mobile 6.1 platform and comes packing a 2-megapixel snapper, GPS and a QVGA display. Customers will apparently have a choice of either CDMA or GSM/EDGE options.
We have no ideas on pricing or availability but we'd imagine the device to be a China-only release.
