Microsoft announces social rewards scheme
UK Windows Phone fans will be able to unlock a variety of rewards simply by using their phone

Microsoft and ex-Blur bassist Alex James has announced a new Windows Phone rewards scheme.
Known as 'Into by Windows Phone', this new scheme allows you to be rewarded when using your phone. Every Facebook Like, Facebook share, Tweet or invites to the into app reward you with points, which can be used to unlock special offers.
At the moment, Into by Windows Phone only exists as a Facebook page but an app is coming to the Windows Marketplace 'soon' - we expect it to arrive before Christmas.
Besides social networking, there will be other ways to earn awards. If you hand your phone over to a friend to try out, they can check out the 'best bits' of Windows Phone in a demo via the Into by Windows Phone app.
This feature is obviously meant to convert people, but we're not particularly bothered by its shallow intentions when the product is as good as it is. After all, we just gave Windows Phone our 2011 Innovation of the Year award.
