Getting to grips with the N95 Video Centre

The Nokia N95 has an interesting application dedicated to downloading and playing videos. The Video Centre allows users to access their own videos, Nokia branded videos and internet videos. It also allows you to access video content sites like YouTube with the click of a button.

This application was dreamt up prior to sites like YouTube making their websites mobile friendly. However, with the help of RSS feeds, the Video Centre allows you to access a variety of internet based videos. Just add a news feed to the video centre and save special videos to your phone.

To access the Video Centre:

• From the stand-by screen select the Main Menu button
• Select Applications
• The select Video Centre
  
  

Once in the Video Centre tab left and right to access the following options:

• Internet Videos – Videos you can access by setting up RSS feeds
• Add New Services – This choice allows you to access the Nokia Video Service Catalogue where you can set up a Video Centre section for YouTube, Reuters and more, once set up these feeds will appear in the Video Centre main menu.
• Nokia Nseries – Where you can view Nokia branded videos (adverts)
• My Videos – Videos that you have saved into the Video Centre application

To add a new Internet Video:

• Select Internet Videos in the Video Centres menu
• Select Options
• Scroll down to and select Feed subscriptions
• Select Options
• Scroll down and select Add Feed
  
  

You will then asked to input the name and address of your feed do this and your new feed will appear in your subscription list. To refresh your videos select Options then Refresh feeds in the Internet Videos menu. To delete a feed select Options in the Internet Videos menu and select Delete feed.
