Sony's forthcoming Xperia tablet has leaked online with more specs and better pictures

More pictures have emerged of Sony’s rumoured Xperia branded Android tablet and we’ve now got a much clearer image of the device.

It looks a lot like the Sony Tablet S launched last year except it’s almost half as thin and will allegedly feature a fold-out keyboard case and waterproofing.

The device, which hasn’t yet been named, bears Sony’s Xperia branding, as well as the Xperia ‘cosmic flow’ wallpaper, a Sony Walkman app and a variety of other Timescape-style touches.

You can also see from the pictures that it seems to have a two-tone silver and matte black finish, which is quite different from the Tablet S. Earlier reports indicate it’ll run Android Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0 on an Nvidia Tegra 3 quad core processor.

The screen will be a 9.4-inch 1280x800 pixel LCD (160ppi) and there’ll be 64GB of onboard storage, though suspect there may also be a 32GB option.

Rumours suggest it’ll support Micro SD card storage too, which is a plus, along with a 10-hour 6,000mAh battery pack, GPS, 3G capability and both 8-megapixel and 1-megapixel cameras.

The device is expected to debut at the IFA 2012 industry event in Berlin at the end of the month. We’ll bring you more information as and when we get it.
