Sky+ app updated to include On Demand TV downloads

The Sky+ app has been updated on iOS to include On Demand TV downloads.

You can set up your Sky+ box to record whole series of TV box sets on a whole range of channels including all the Sky channels, BBC iPlayer, ITV Player and Demand 5, with access to 4oD coming in the Spring.

Around 6000 hours of top programmes including Mad Men, Modern Family and Show me Your Wardrobe are available to download onto your sky+ box, just with one click on the Sky+ app on iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch.

You'll only be able to download the programmes from inside your house though, which is a bit of a shame - we'd rather have the option of downloading wherever you are.

Luke Bradley-Jones, Director of TV Products, Sky said: 'This great new feature capitalises on the iPad or iPhone touchscreen to make it easier than ever to browse and discover something new to watch, regardless of whether you are near your Sky+HD box or elsewhere in your home.

'So when you've got a house-full this Christmas, rather than interrupt the kids' cartoons or the big match, you can now browse through the On Demand movie listings from the kitchen whilst making dinner, and find the perfect film to watch later on.'
