ZTE launching ‘advanced gaming smartphone’ in a matter of days
ZTE has revealed a new smartphone will be unveiled in the next six days
Chinese manufacturer ZTE has taken to Twitter on its UK account to announce it will reveal a new smartphone in only a few days time.
The company tweeted on Thursday July 12 that more information would be revealed in six days from that time, so we’ll be keeping our ears to the ground on Wednesday 18 July for an update.
Interestingly, ZTE claims this device will be ‘one of the most advanced gaming smartphones’ on the planet. The ‘most advanced gaming smartphones’ part was all in capitals, which we’ve spared you from by not repeating it verbatim, but clearly ZTE’s Twitter people are pretty excited about this smartphone.
It is, however, not clear whether this is an entirely new device which has been kept under wraps until now, or one of the company’s previously announced but as yet unreleased handsets, such as the quad core ZTE Era.
If it is the Era then it should be quite competent at gaming thanks to the inclusion of Nvidia’s Tegra 3 quad core processor clocked at 1.3GHz with a ULP GeForce graphics processing unit (GPU) and 1GB of RAM.
Earlier in the year a ZTE chief revealed the company was working on an ARM Cortex-A15 powered phone called the 'Athena', which is another possible candidate and if so could be the first A15 powered device to hit the market.
We’ll bring you more as we hear it.
