Sony Xperia C530X HuaShan pictures leak
Pictures and details have leaked of Sony's next Xperia smartphone, an apparently mid-range handset codenamed 'HuaShan'
Another Sony Xperia smartphone is in the works, dubbed the C530X and codenamed 'HuaShan'.
The handset appears to be based around the same design as the recently launched Xperia Z flagship and, like that particular model, it will run Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean and the new Sony UI.
The HuaShan is believed to be part of the same family as the C5303, which recently appeared in AnTuTu benchmarks with a rating of 16,133 - just shy of Samsung's Galaxy S3.
Given that the Galaxy S3 is soon to be replaced by a successor flagship and the fact that Sony has already debuted its own flagship, this leads us to believe the HuaShan is a mid-range handset which could be revealed at Mobile World Congress (MWC) in late February.
Previous leaks suggest the HuaShan will sport a 1.7GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro MSM8960T chipset with an Adreno 320 GPU and a 720p display.
Sony is also expected to showcase its Xperia Tablet Z slate at MWC 2013 which will also, like the Xperia Z smartphone, feature Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 quad-core architecture, a high resolution display and dust and water proofing.
It's not yet clear whether the HuaShan will have the same IP57 dust and water protection. We can however expect the name to change to some kind of letter designation before launch.
We'll be sure to bring you more as we hear it.
