At present, there is no officially sanctioned way to download and install new Flash-based themes onto your LG KU990 Viewty.

That means, in theory, your state-of-the-art mobilephone with its three-inch high resolution touchscreen can only handle three preloaded themes: Black, Silver and Fish (Orange customers may also use a fourth called, surprise, Orange).

However, where there's a will there's a way and a small but active community of brave Viewty owners has got together online to find a way to install new, animated Flash-based themes onto their handsets.

Already they have created an iPhone theme, a Simpsons theme and various other themes for the LG KU990 Viewty.

But the downside is that installing a new custom theme is a somewhat convoluted process that involves downloading a piece of software called EFS Media Builder. This software allows you to browse and delete protected directories on your Viewty.

Note: if you use this software you could delete or move crucial files which will render your Viewty inoperable. Follow the instructions we link to carefully and ensure that you have a backup of the phone's firmware

To install a new theme you will need to use EFS Builder to copy it across from your PC and overwriting the Silver theme that is preinstalled on the Viewty. Only one non-standard theme can be installed at any one time.

You can also use a piece of software called Theme Manager to switch between themes and use custom icons and clock widgets.
