Edit nav key shortcuts on the Samsung G600
Why drill down through menus on the Samsung G600 when you can assign three favourite functions to the phone's navkeys?
Pressing the Samsung G600's navigation keys in standby mode calls up four shortcuts to commonly used features. By default, these are My menu (up), New SMS message (left), Music player (right) and Calendar (down).
If you want fast access to another function, it's easy enough to change your left, right and down shortcut keys - the up key is locked to open your My menu, although that's easy enough to change too - see our guide to changing your My menu shortcuts.
To change your shortcut options, from standby mode click Menu, highlight Settings and click Select.
Highlight Phone settings and click Select.
Highlight Shortcuts and click Select, or just press 3.
A visual representation of the nav Shortcuts will appear on screen. Use the nav keys to highlight one of the four icons and the name of the function will appear at the bottom of the screen.
To change a shortcut, highlight its icon, click Options, highlight Change and click Select. The list of available shortcut options will appear. Use the up and down nav keys to highlight the option you want, and click Save.
The Shortcuts preview will now show your new shortcut in its new position. Change as many shortcuts as you like by following the steps above, and when you're finished, click the red End call key to return to standby mode.
Next time your click the left, right or down nav keys in standby mode, you'll be taken straight to your selected shortcut.
Note: there is no way of changing the softkeys on the Samsung G600, these are locked to Menu and Contacts.
