Reckless Racing 2 fishtails onto iPhone and iPad

One of mobile gaming's greatest racers now has a sequel in the form of Reckless Racing 2

Not content with the masterpiece that was Reckless Racing, developer Polarbit has just unleashed a sequel onto iPad and iPhone.

Reckless Racing 2 might only cost less than a beer, but it's a well-equipped slice of automotive gaming. There are 24 routes to drive 18 different fully customisable cars around, each race coming in either dirt of tarmac flavours.

The routes are also more interesting to behold - not that you'll get a lot of time to see them as you cut through an apex sideways with the rear tires practically on fire. Still, beautiful animations and unrivalled detail are your reward if you take the time to look.

Polarbit has seen fit to not just add more of everything - it has done popped the hood and done some serious modifications, too. A campaign mode with trophies to be won compliments online multiplayer. We've not yet seen whether you can pair-up with friends in the latter but here's hoping.

Most important, of course, is the fun factor, and it looks like Reckless Racing 2 will carry the tradition on with conviction. If you like your racing games to have a bit of a Destruction Derby feel to them, it will be £2.99 well spent.

And £2.99 you should spend, as the Reckless Racing series nearly got itself stuck in the pits before its launch, and that would've been a shame.
