According to a new leak today, Samsung plans to launch just three Galaxy S26 models in January 2026:
- Galaxy S26
- Galaxy S26 Edge
- Galaxy S26 Ultra
That means the Galaxy S26+ model is officially out of the picture. This isn’t just another random rumour either. Alongside the original leak, a second report has surfaced showing three new codenames tied to Samsung’s upcoming flagships: NPA1, NPA2, and NPA3.
These internal codenames reportedly stand for “Next Paradigm” or “New Paradigm.” For context, Samsung’s Galaxy S25 family used “Paradigm” codenames, so this looks like a direct follow-up.
What Cameras Will The Galaxy S26 Series Have?
Alongside the model names and codenames, the same source shared early camera details:
- Galaxy S26 Ultra:
- 200 MP main camera (rumoured to use a new, larger Sony sensor)
- 50 MP telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom
- Galaxy S26 Edge:
- 50 MP ultrawide lens upgrade
- Galaxy S26 (Base Model):
- May not see any major camera upgrades
If true, Samsung is focusing its most significant camera updates on the Ultra and Edge models. That would make sense considering the reported retirement of the Plus model — likely due to lower sales.
How Reliable Is This Leak?
The information supposedly comes from publicly accessible databases linked with Samsung and its suppliers, not just the usual leaker accounts.
The source claims this makes it more reliable than your typical smartphone rumour — but as with all unofficial reports, we’ll have to wait for official confirmation.
For now, it looks like Samsung is fine-tuning its Galaxy S lineup to focus on fewer, more distinct models.
