A representative from US network AT&T has announced that Apple will launch OS 3.1 for the iPhone in September.
Although it's not yet clear yet what the update could unlock, Bluetooth file transfer is one possibility, after it was once again left out of the iPhone 3GS.
The AT&T spokesman also revealed to funkyspacemonkey.com that MMS messaging would become available on the US network, which is certainly something US iPhone customers will be hoping for.
An announcement regarding a revision of the iPhone's firmware is due at an Apple media event on the 9th September in San Francisco.
