The long awaited Sony Ericsson X10 is now available to buy online SIM-free, direct from Hong Kong.
We've heard that all the major UK operators will be stocking the X10 when it hits stores in the UK early next month but Hong Kong based online retailer Plemix is offering it for sale right now with worldwide shipping available.
According to the sales team, it's been flying off the shelves since it went on sale a few days ago. If you're looking to get you're hands on the off-contract version, this is your chance but you'll need to dig deep - it's being offered in black or white for $770 US Dollars, or £537.46.
Despite the steep price tag, the draw of a 4-inch OLED Sony Ericsson handset, running a customised Android UI, adorned with the TimeScape and MediaScape apps is quite a lure indeed.
A glance at the spec list shows that it's not all gloss and no substance though; the X10 is quite the powerhouse. An 8-megapixel flash equipped camera, HSDPA/Wi-Fi/Bluetooth connectivity options, GPS, and the usual bundle of Google Android goodies are all in place to make sure that the X10 lives up to your expectations.
If you're feeling a little more patient, Play.com is offering the device for £489.99, with a stated release date of 2nd April.
