MWC: O2 to offer HTC Smart in the UK

O2 has announced that it will be offering the affordable HTC Smart from April

The HTC Smart will be available on O2 from the end of the April, it has been announced at Mobile World Congress.
O2 will be pitching the smartphone as one of the most affordable on the market, offering easy-to-use widgets, browsing and connectivity. It has a 2.8 inch touchscreen and 3-megapixel camera, not to mention a a 300MHz processor.
"More and more people are craving advanced mobile phone experiences with email, web browsing and social networking but the cost and complexity often represent a significant obstacle for many. The HTC Smart introduces this functionality in an intuitive phone that is affordable," said Peter Chou, chief executive officer, HTC Corporation
HTC Smart uses Qualcomm's Brew Mobile Platform, that allows HTC to deliver the same HTC Sense experience as on its top of the range smartphones.
The HTC Smart will come in three colours; pink, white and black and pricing is thought to be around £20 per month, although this has not been confirmed by HTC or O2.
