The Phonak Audeo PFE 122s which feature perfect in-ear fit

Not many people know this, but Phonak, the company behind the Phonak Audéo PFE 122 monitor headphones, are a world-renowned Swiss hearing aid company – so they’re not your average headphone manufacturer.
According to Phonak, the Phonak Audéo PFE 122 monitor headphones have the “perfect in-ear” fit thanks to their unique ear-buds which mold to the exact shape of your ear canal.
But are they actually any good? We put them to the test over a weekend.
The first thing you’ll notice about the headphones is that they’re not like other ear-buds in their design. For starters you have to wrap them around the back of your ear before you put the buds in – this is where their L-shaped design comes into play.
At first, this is a little weird, but once you’ve done it a few times you can begin to see what Phonak are getting at as once they’re in they mimic the shape of your ear and are generally a lot more secure.
The over-the-ear design of the headphones means that the amount of noise traveling up the cable is reduced significantly, which means the Phonak Audéo PFE 122 monitor headphones are ideal for users that like to listen to music whilst doing activities like jogging or going to the gym.
The next cool thing about the Phonak Audéo PFE 122 monitor headphones is the actual ear-buds, which are made out of foam-like material similar to ear-plugs.
Once you put them in your ear, the foam ear buds mold to the shape of your ear canal and fit perfectly in there, which means there’s absolute no disturbances from the outside world once the music is on.
Sound wise, the Phonak Audéo PFE 122 monitor headphones are superb and they’re definitely up there with the best of them. We tried a whole host of music through them over the weekend, from metal to electronica to blues, and everything sounded crisp, clear and extremely bright.
There’s no low-end rumble, which is often a problem with ear-buds, and the bass throbs away in the mix just as it should, having both kick and presence. The high-end is also handled beautifully with the guitars and symbols sounding bright, sharp and detailed.
In short, you can hear everything you’re meant to when using the Phonak Audéo PFE 122 monitor headphones, and while the overall sound quality is extremely clear, the PFE 112s still deliver the “heaviness” when it’s required.
Overall, we really liked these headphones. They’re comfortable, have awesome sound quality and are very usable.
In this sense then, the Phonak Audéo PFE 122 monitor headphones are the perfect choice for any user looking for ear-buds that provide unparalleled clarity, reduced noise interference and isolation from the outside world.
