The iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C will go on sale on September 20
The iPhone 5C and iPhone 5S will both ship on September 20 according to a new report.
Phone Arena says the on-sale date of the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C can be simply worked out by previous iPhone launches.
'For six years Apple has rolled out the new iPhone more than a week and less than two weeks after the official announcement. Moreover, Apple has the tradition to launch the device on Friday, giving users a full weekend to check out the device in store and purchase it if they want. The only Friday fitting those requirements is September 20th,' said Phone Arena.
This morning, news popped up saying Apple has reportedly told its supplier Foxconn to ensure both new models are ready to ship at the devices' launch, said to be September 10.
According to the Wall Street Journal, people 'familiar with the situation' said Apple asked Foxconn to begin 'shipping both a new high-end and low-end iPhone in early September.'
The Wall Street Journal said this is a change in strategy for Apple, which is trying hard to keep up with the competition. Apple's rivals have repeatedly launched multiple devices across different price points at the same time.
The iPhone 5S is expected to be an aluminium-based device, available in white, black and gold, while the iPhone 5C is said to be a cheaper version of the iPhone 5 with a plastic casing. It's thought the budget iPhone 5C will be available in a much larger range of colours.
WSJ said the iPhone 5S has been in production since June, 'Apple's suppliers in Asia started mass-producing components in June for both a standard iPhone featuring a metal casing and a lower-cost version, people who work at those companies said.'
Apple may also launch the iPad 5 and iPad Mini 2 in September, making it the company's biggest product launch yet.
