Truth Social FAQs

Trump made his own social media platform, it’s called TRUTH and below you’ll find answers to the most commonly asked questions about it

What Exactly Is Truth Social?

Truth Social is a U.S.-based social media platform launched in February 2022 by former President Donald J. Trump through his company, Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG).

The platform was created as a “free speech” alternative to mainstream networks like Twitter (now X) and Facebook.

It’s designed primarily for a politically conservative audience, and it functions very similarly to Twitter—with posts called “Truths” and features like reposting (“Retruths”), direct messaging, groups, and polls.

While it shares some design elements with X, Truth Social lacks advanced tools like AI integration, real-time trends, and powerful search functionality.

How Many Users Are There on Truth Social?

As of July 2025, Truth Social has an estimated 2 to 6.3 million monthly active users, with total downloads surpassing 4.36 million since launch.

The platform peaked in early 2024 with nearly 13.8 million users, but activity has fluctuated significantly since then.

In comparison, it remains a niche platform—with roughly 1% of the user base of X (formerly Twitter), which has over 550 million monthly active users globally.

Is Truth Social Free?

Truth Social is completely free to join and use. There are no paid subscription tiers or in-app purchases required to access core features like posting, messaging, or joining groups.

However, it’s worth noting that while the platform brands itself as “free speech–focused,” it still enforces moderation policies and complies with platform requirements from Apple and Google, particularly around content that incites violence.

Why Am I Blocked From Truth Social?

Being blocked from Truth Social can happen for a few reasons.

Despite its reputation for minimal moderation, the platform does enforce its Terms of Service—especially around threats, incitement to violence, or spammy behavior.

For example, Truth Social made significant changes to its moderation policies after initially being rejected from the Google Play Store, including stricter enforcement against violent content.

Accounts that post content considered in violation of those rules—particularly posts that are anti-Trump or outside the platform’s ideological lean—have occasionally reported bans or restrictions.

How Do I Get on Truth Social?

To join Truth Social, go to the platform’s website or download the app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

You must be at least 18 years old, and you’ll need to provide a valid email address and phone number to verify your account.

Once you’re signed up, you can customize your profile, follow other users, join groups, and start posting “Truths”—the platform’s version of tweets.

Is There a Character Limit on Truth Social?

Truth Social supports long-form content and does not impose the same strict 280-character limit that Twitter (X) is known for.

While there may be internal limits for formatting or readability, users on Truth Social can post much longer “Truths”, making it easier to share extended commentary, full statements, or multi-paragraph posts without breaking them into threads.

How Do I Delete My Truth Social Account?

To delete your Truth Social account, log in and navigate to your account settings.

While the process isn’t heavily publicized, you’ll typically find the option under your privacy or account management section.

Once selected, follow the prompts to confirm the deletion.

Keep in mind that account deletion may not be immediate, and any stored data or posts may remain in backups for a certain period as outlined in the platform’s privacy policy.
