Visible+ Pro is my pick for iPhone + Apple Watch users
Visible+ Pro is my recommended cellular plan for anyone using an iPhone and Apple Watch together. It rolls cellular smartwatch service into its normal $45 price, instead of charging extra for it like every other carrier on this list.
What $45/mo gets you
Watch service surcharge โ everyone else charges extra
Running cellular data on an Apple Watch should be simple.
You already have the watch. You already have the iPhone. You just want both devices connected without turning your monthly bill into a small collection of plans, line charges, taxes and fees.
That is why my go-to option is now Visible+ Pro. For the record, I used to be with Verizon but I switched over to Visible last year because it’s a helluva lot cheaper (and it also runs on Verizon’s network too).
It gives your iPhone unlimited premium data on Verizonโs network and includes cellular service for a compatible Apple Watch in the same $45 monthly price.
- Taxes and carrier fees are included.
- There is no service contract.
- Your iPhone and Apple Watch share the same number, and you manage everything through one Visible account.
No separate smartwatch charge. No second carrier. No mystery additions when the bill arrives.
Just $45 for the lot.
Why put an Apple Watch on a cellular plan?
A standard GPS Apple Watch connects through your iPhone or a nearby Wi-Fi network.
A GPS + Cellular Apple Watch can connect directly to a mobile network. That means it can continue working when your iPhone is switched off, out of battery or sitting at home.
With cellular service active, you can:
- Make and receive calls
- Send and receive messages
- Stream music and podcasts
- Receive app notifications
- Use Maps and navigation
- Check the weather
- Contact emergency services
- Use Siri
- Track outdoor workouts
- Stay reachable without carrying your iPhone
This is particularly useful when running, walking, cycling or going to the gym.
You can leave your expensive iPhone at home and still receive an important call, stream a playlist or message someone if your plans change.
It also provides a useful backup if your iPhone battery dies.
Cellular service is not essential for every Apple Watch owner. If your iPhone is always in your pocket, the watch can use its connection through Bluetooth.
But once you start leaving the phone behind, cellular becomes one of those features you quickly stop wanting to lose.
Why I The Visible+ Pro Plan is Best For Apple Watch
Visible has three plans:
| Plan | Monthly price | Apple Watch service | Combined monthly cost |
|---|---|---|---|
| Visible | $25 | $10 | $35 |
| Visible+ | $35 | $10 | $45 |
| Visible+ Pro | $45 | Included | $45 |
This creates an interesting choice, and you can read my breakdown of each plan inside this resource.
The standard Visible plan plus Apple Watch service costs $35 a month. That is the cheapest way to connect both devices through Visible.
But the standard plan does not include premium smartphone data.
Your iPhone data can temporarily slow when Verizonโs network is congested. Its hotspot is also limited to 5Mbps and mobile video to around 480p.
- Visible+ provides unlimited premium data and raises the hotspot limit to 10Mbps. Add Apple Watch service and the total reaches $45.
- Visible+ Pro costs the same $45 but includes the watch.
It also gives you a 15Mbps hotspot, better video streaming and more international features.
Put simply:
If you are considering Visible+ and need Apple Watch cellular service, buy Visible+ Pro instead. Both cost $45 in total, but Pro gives you more.
That is why it is my go-to plan.
How Apple Watch service works on Visible
Your Apple Watch and iPhone remain separate devices, but they share the same telephone number.
When someone calls your iPhone number, the call can appear on both devices. You can answer through your watch even when your iPhone is not nearby.
Messages and supported notifications work in much the same way.
Visible uses an eSIM inside the Apple Watch to connect it to the mobile network. There is no physical watch SIM to install or lose behind the sofa.
You activate the service through the Watch app and your Visible account.
The basic process is:
- Join Visible using a compatible iPhone.
- Pair your Apple Watch with the iPhone.
- Open the Watch app on your iPhone.
- Select Cellular or Mobile Data.
- Select Set Up Cellular.
- Follow the Visible activation instructions.
- Wait for the watch eSIM to activate.
- Make a test call with the iPhone switched off or out of range.
Your first watch-service charge may be prorated if you add it to a cheaper Visible plan partway through the billing month. On Visible+ Pro, smartwatch service is already included.
Does any Apple Watch work with Visible?
No. You need an Apple Watch with cellular hardware.
Apple sells two broad versions:
- Apple Watch GPS
- Apple Watch GPS + Cellular
A GPS-only Apple Watch cannot be converted into a cellular model with an app, eSIM or software update. The required modem is not inside the watch.
Visible says its smartwatch service supports Apple Watch Series 4 and newer when paired with a compatible device.
That includes cellular versions of newer Apple Watch, Apple Watch SE and Apple Watch Ultra models, but you should run the exact device through Visibleโs compatibility process before switching.
You will also need:
- A compatible iPhone
- An unlocked iPhone if bringing your own
- A supported version of iOS and watchOS
- A Visible phone plan
- Verizon coverage in your area
If you are buying a used Apple Watch, confirm that it is the GPS + Cellular version and that it is not locked to somebody elseโs Apple Account.
What you get for $45 a month
Visible+ Pro is not merely a cheap phone plan with a watch bolted onto it.
It is Visibleโs top plan.
Unlimited premium data for your iPhone
Visible+ Pro includes unlimited premium data on Verizonโs 5G Ultra Wideband, regular 5G and 4G LTE networks.
Premium data means Visible does not temporarily place your connection behind standard-priority traffic simply because a tower is busy.
There is no normal monthly premium-data allowance to use up.
That matters in busy areas such as:
- City centers
- Railway stations
- Airports
- Stadiums
- Concert venues
- Conventions
- Shopping centers
- Commuter routes
The cheaper $25 Visible plan can slow during network congestion. Pro gives your iPhone the better data treatment, not just a connection for your watch.
Verizon network coverage
Visible is owned by Verizon and uses Verizonโs mobile network.
If Verizon already works well at your home, workplace and usual destinations, Visible should provide broadly similar coverage.
โSame networkโ does not mean every aspect of the service is identical. Visible has online-only support and different phone promotions, billing and plan features.
But the underlying 5G and LTE coverage comes from Verizon.
Unlimited 15Mbps hotspot data
Visible+ Pro includes unlimited hotspot use at speeds up to 15Mbps.
That is useful when you need to connect a MacBook or iPad while traveling, working away from home or dealing with a broadband outage.
Fifteen megabits per second is enough for:
- Web browsing
- Cloud documents
- Video calls
- Music streaming
- HD video
- Most everyday remote work
It is speed-capped, so do not expect fiber-like downloads.
The benefit is that Visible does not give you a small hotspot allowance and then leave you stranded. You can continue using it throughout the month at the planโs permitted speed.
Better mobile video
Visible+ Pro supports video streaming at up to:
- 4K on 5G Ultra Wideband
- 1080p on standard 5G and LTE
Whether you need 4K video on an iPhone is debatable. The more useful part is retaining 1080p streaming when Ultra Wideband is unavailable.
The cheaper Visible+ plan falls to 720p on regular 5G and LTE.
International features
Visible+ Pro includes:
- Roaming in Canada and Mexico
- 2GB of high-speed data per day in Canada and Mexico
- Unlimited calls and texts while roaming in those countries
- Two Global Pass days each month
- International calling to more than 85 countries
- International texting to more than 200 countries
International calling is limited to 500 minutes a month.
Included Global Pass days can be used across more than 140 supported countries and territories. Unused days can be banked, subject to Visibleโs plan limit.
These extras will not matter to everyone, but they make the $45 price look even better for regular travelers.
Visible+ Pro versus Visible+
Without an Apple Watch, Visible+ is the better-value plan for most people.
It costs $35 and includes the same unlimited premium smartphone data as Pro.
Once you add a watch, however, the comparison changes:
| Feature | Visible+ with Apple Watch | Visible+ Pro |
|---|---|---|
| Phone plan | $35 | $45 |
| Apple Watch service | $10 | Included |
| Total | $45 | $45 |
| Premium phone data | Unlimited | Unlimited |
| Hotspot | Unlimited at 10Mbps | Unlimited at 15Mbps |
| Video | Up to 1080p/720p | Up to 4K/1080p |
| Global Pass | One day monthly | Two days monthly |
| International calls | Limited | 500 minutes to 85+ countries |
There is no price saving from choosing Visible+ once you add Apple Watch service.
You end up paying $45 either way.
Pro simply gives you more for that money.
Our full Visible+ versus Visible+ Pro comparison explains the plan differences in more detail.
Visible+ Pro versus Verizon
Verizonโs standard Simplicity phone plan costs $45 a month with Auto Pay, plus taxes and fees.
Eligible new customers may receive a switching discount that temporarily reduces the phone plan price. Offers change, and the standard price is what matters over the longer term.
Verizonโs Number Share smartwatch service normally costs $15 a month. Some eligible Verizon phone plans can reduce a connected-watch charge by up to 50%.
Using the standard undiscounted watch price:
| Visible+ Pro | Verizon Simplicity + watch | |
|---|---|---|
| Phone plan | $45 | $45 |
| Apple Watch line | Included | $15 |
| Combined price | $45 | $60 |
| Taxes and fees | Included | Added |
| Annual service cost before Verizon taxes | $540 | $720 |
That is a $180 annual difference before accounting for Verizonโs taxes and fees.
If Verizon applies a 50% watch-line discount, the comparison becomes:
- Visible+ Pro: $45 a month
- Verizon Simplicity plus discounted watch line: about $52.50 plus taxes and fees
Visible still comes out cheaper at standard pricing.
Verizon does have several benefits:
- Physical stores
- Phone support
- Satellite texting on supported phones
- Family-account features
- Stronger iPhone and Apple Watch promotions
- More ways to finance devices
- Optional entertainment perks
If you are receiving a large Verizon device credit or have several family lines, staying may make financial sense.
But if you already own your iPhone and Apple Watch, Visible+ Pro is much cleaner.
You are paying for the service you need, not using an expensive phone plan to qualify for a discounted watch line.
See our Verizon plan prices guide before comparing your current bill.
Visible+ Pro versus AT&T
AT&T charges $10.99 a month for an Apple Watch wearable line. Taxes and fees are extra, and an active phone line is required.
The watch then uses AT&T NumberSync to share your iPhone number.
AT&Tโs entry postpaid unlimited phone pricing can start around $50 a month with the required billing discounts, although the exact total depends on your plan, location, number of lines and Auto Pay method.
A basic comparison looks like this:
| Visible+ Pro | AT&T phone + Apple Watch | |
|---|---|---|
| Phone service | $45 | From around $50 |
| Apple Watch service | Included | $10.99 |
| Estimated combined price | $45 | From around $60.99 |
| Taxes and fees | Included | Extra |
| Auto Pay required for headline price | No | Commonly yes |
Visible can save around $16 a month compared with a $50 AT&T phone plan and its $10.99 watch line.
That is roughly $192 over a year, before AT&T taxes, fees or device payments.
AT&T may still be the better choice if its network performs better where you live or you are receiving device credits that outweigh the service-price difference.
Coverage wins. A cheap plan is not a bargain if it barely works inside your house.
But in an area with strong Verizon coverage, Visible+ Pro makes a more convincing value argument.
Why I prefer one carrier for both devices
Technically, the Apple Watch has its own cellular connection.
In practical use, it is an extension of your iPhone. It shares your number, notifications, calls, messages and Apple Account.
I want the billing to feel the same way.
One carrier. One account. One monthly payment.
Using Visible for both means:
- Your phone and watch are managed together
- Both use the same carrier network
- The watch shares your iPhone number
- There is no separate watch bill
- You do not need another carrier login
- Support and activation happen in one place
- The $45 service price already includes the watch
- Taxes and carrier fees are included
Trying to split a personally paired Apple Watch and iPhone across unrelated carriers is also not the normal setup. Features such as number sharing are built around the phone and watch being on the same supported carrier account.
Appleโs Family Setup can support a different use case, such as configuring a watch for a child or relative who does not have their own iPhone. That is not the same as connecting your own watch to your personal iPhone number.
For a normal iPhone and Apple Watch pairing, keeping both under one carrier is the sensible route.
No contract does not mean a financed device disappears
Visibleโs wireless service is prepaid and contract-free.
You can change your plan or leave without paying an early termination charge.
But the iPhone and Apple Watch themselves are separate.
If you finance a device, that finance agreement still exists. Cancelling Visible does not wipe the remaining balance.
The simplest setup is bringing an unlocked iPhone and an Apple Watch you already own. You then pay $45 each month for the service and can leave if it stops working for you.
No 36-month carrier commitment. No monthly device credits designed to keep you from moving. No complicated exit calculation.
No hidden taxes or carrier fees
Visible includes taxes and carrier fees in its advertised price.
Visible+ Pro is $45 a month for the phone service and compatible smartwatch connection.
That does not include a device payment if you finance an iPhone or Apple Watch, but the service charge itself is clear.
With some postpaid carriers, you begin with the advertised phone plan, then add:
- A watch-line charge
- Taxes
- Administrative fees
- Device payments
- Insurance
- Optional perks
- Activation or upgrade charges
Individually, some of those charges look small.
Together, they are why the bill you receive can bear only a passing resemblance to the price that caught your attention.
Could you spend less with the standard Visible plan?
Yes.
The $25 Visible plan lets you add smartwatch service for $10 a month, producing a combined cost of $35.
That saves $10 a month compared with Pro.
You still get unlimited iPhone data and unlimited hotspot use, but there are trade-offs:
- Phone data can slow during congestion
- Hotspot speed falls to 5Mbps
- Video is limited to around 480p
- Canada and Mexico roaming is not included
- Global Pass is not included
- International features are more limited
This is a good setup for someone who spends most of the day on Wi-Fi and wants cellular watch access at the lowest price.
For my main iPhone, I would pay the extra $10 for Pro.
Unlimited premium smartphone data, a faster hotspot and better roaming make it a much more rounded plan.
Can you use Visible+ Pro without activating a watch?
Yes.
You do not need an Apple Watch to join Visible+ Pro.
But if you do not use a smartwatch, Visible+ at $35 is probably the better choice. It includes the same unlimited premium smartphone data and costs $10 less.
Pro earns its keep when you use the included watch connection or its additional hotspot and travel features.
Do not pay for the top plan merely because it has โProโ in the name. Phone companies already get enough money through that trick.
Who should get Visible+ Pro?
Visible+ Pro is best for someone who:
- Owns a cellular Apple Watch
- Wants to leave their iPhone at home occasionally
- Wants unlimited premium iPhone data
- Uses Verizon coverage
- Wants one bill for both devices
- Uses a mobile hotspot
- Travels to Canada, Mexico or farther abroad
- Does not need in-store support
- Already owns unlocked compatible devices
- Wants a predictable monthly service price
It is less suitable if:
- Verizon coverage is weak where you live
- You own a GPS-only Apple Watch
- You need in-person customer service
- You are receiving large carrier device credits
- You manage a large family account
- You never use your watch away from your iPhone
What I would do before switching
First, confirm that Verizon works well in your area.
Then check that both devices are compatible. Your iPhone should be unlocked, and your Apple Watch must be a GPS + Cellular model.
Before leaving another carrier:
- Check your remaining device balances.
- Check whether you will lose promotional credits.
- Obtain your account number.
- Request a number-transfer PIN.
- Keep the old account active.
- Transfer your iPhone number to Visible.
- Confirm the phone service works.
- Add the Apple Watch through the Watch app.
- Test the watch away from the iPhone.
- Confirm the old carrier account has closed.
Do not cancel your old phone line before transferring the number.
If you are leaving Verizon, our guide explains how to switch from Verizon to Visible safely.
Final verdict
Visible+ Pro is my go-to data plan for an iPhone and cellular Apple Watch because it turns two connected devices into one simple $45 service bill.
The iPhone gets unlimited premium data and Verizon 5G Ultra Wideband. The Apple Watch gets its own cellular connection while sharing the iPhoneโs number. Taxes and carrier fees are included, and there is no service contract.
Could you find a cheaper setup? Yes. The standard Visible plan plus a watch costs $35.
But Visible+ Pro gives you better smartphone-data priority, a faster hotspot, better video and stronger travel features. Compared with Visible+ plus its $10 watch charge, Pro costs exactly the same.
Verizon and AT&T provide solid Apple Watch support, but both ordinarily add a separate wearable charge to the phone plan. Once taxes and fees enter the picture, the total can easily move past $50 or $60 a month.
Visible+ Pro keeps it at $45.
One network. One account. One predictable price for the iPhone and Apple Watch.
That is the entire appeal.
