Get Visible+ — unless you need one of Pro’s extras
Visible+ is the best plan for most people. You get the same unlimited premium smartphone data as Pro, the same Verizon 5G and LTE coverage, the same 5G Ultra Wideband access and the same Canada/Mexico roaming allowance. You are not paying less for an inferior core connection.
Identical on both plans
Pro is worth it if you…
- Use your phone as a hotspot regularly
- Stream a lot of high-resolution video
- Connect a cellular smartwatch
- Travel internationally beyond Canada/Mexico
Visible+ Pro
Worth it for smartwatch, hotspot & global roaming.
Check Latest Price →Visible+ and Visible+ Pro both include unlimited premium data on Verizon’s network. That means the extra $10 for Pro does not buy you better signal, broader US coverage or higher-priority smartphone data.
What it DOES get you is a faster hotspot, better video quality, included smartwatch service and more international features.
For most people, Visible+ is the better deal at $35 a month.
But if you own a cellular smartwatch, regularly use your phone as a hotspot or travel outside the US several times a year, Visible+ Pro is easily worth the extra $10.
In fact, smartwatch owners pay the same total amount either way:
- Visible+ plus smartwatch service: $45 a month
- Visible+ Pro with smartwatch service included: $45 a month
At that point, buying Pro is a no-brainer. You get all its other upgrades for nothing.
Here’s the full comparison.

My recommendation: get Visible+ unless you need one of Pro’s extras
Visible+ is the best plan for most people.
It gives you the same unlimited premium smartphone data as Pro, the same Verizon 5G and LTE coverage, the same 5G Ultra Wideband access and the same Canada and Mexico roaming allowance.
You are not paying less for an inferior core connection.
The differences only start to matter when you use your phone as a hotspot, stream high-resolution video, connect a cellular smartwatch or travel internationally.
If none of those things describes you, save the $10.
That is $120 a year you can keep without giving up premium smartphone data.
👉 Check the latest Visible+ price and promotion
Visible+ Pro is for people who can put a cash value on its added features.
If you already pay $10 a month for smartwatch service, the upgrade pays for itself immediately. If you regularly buy international roaming days, it can also become cheaper than Visible+ once those extra charges are counted.
What both plans include

Before getting into the differences, it is worth covering what does not change.
Both plans include:
- Unlimited calls
- Unlimited texts
- Unlimited premium smartphone data
- Verizon 5G and 4G LTE coverage
- Verizon 5G Ultra Wideband access
- Unlimited mobile hotspot data
- Spam and robocall blocking
- Canada and Mexico roaming
- 2GB of high-speed roaming data per day in Canada and Mexico
- Unlimited calls and texts from the US to Canada and Mexico
- At least one Global Pass day each month
- $15 a month off eligible Verizon Home Internet
- Taxes and carrier fees included
- No service contract
This is the main point to understand:
Visible+ Pro does not give your phone better US coverage or higher-priority data than Visible+.
Both plans use the same Verizon network. Both include unlimited premium data.
Premium data means your connection is not temporarily slowed because Visible has placed other customers ahead of you during network congestion.
That is what separates these plans from the cheaper standard Visible plan, which may slow when a tower is busy.
If your only concern is getting fast premium data on Verizon’s network, Visible+ already does the job.
The 9 Main Differences Between Visible+ and Visible+ Pro Plans
Difference 1: Visible+ Pro costs $10 more
Visible+ normally costs $35 a month.
Visible+ Pro costs $45.
That is a difference of:
- $10 a month
- $120 a year
- $360 over three years
If you pay annually, the normal prices are:
- Visible+: $375 a year
- Visible+ Pro: $450 a year
The annual difference falls to $75.
Visible+ works out at $31.25 a month when paid annually. Pro works out at $37.50.
Current Visible promotions
At the time of writing, Visible is offering both plans for $6 below their normal monthly prices using code SAVE6:
- Visible+: $29 a month
- Visible+ Pro: $39 a month
The monthly difference remains $10.
There is also a far more aggressive deal on the annual Pro plan. New members can get Visible+ Pro for $225 for the first year using code SAVEHALF.
That works out at just $18.75 a month.
If the $225 Pro deal is still live when you read this, forget the normal recommendation. Get Pro.
You would be paying less for Visible’s best plan than you would normally pay for the standard $25 Visible plan.
Check the renewal price and promotion terms before ordering. The normal Pro annual price is $450, so you need to know what happens after the discounted year.
👉 Check whether the $225 Visible+ Pro deal is still available
Difference 2: Pro has a 50% faster hotspot
Both plans include unlimited hotspot data.
Visible+ limits hotspot speeds to 10Mbps.
Visible+ Pro increases this to 15Mbps.
Calling Pro “50% faster” is mathematically correct, but it can make the difference sound more dramatic than it is. Neither plan gives you uncapped hotspot speed.
Here is what you can realistically do with each.
Visible+ hotspot at 10Mbps
A 10Mbps connection is sufficient for:
- Browsing the web
- Google Docs
- Cloud-based office work
- Music streaming
- One HD video stream
- Most Zoom or Teams calls
- Downloading smaller files
- Using a laptop while traveling
It will feel slow when downloading large apps, games or videos. Performance can also fall when several devices share the connection.
For occasional laptop use, 10Mbps is fine.
Visible+ Pro hotspot at 15Mbps
Pro’s 15Mbps hotspot gives you more breathing room for:
- Higher-quality video calls
- HD streaming
- Larger downloads
- Connecting more than one device
- Remote work
- Using cloud-based business software
- Running a tablet and laptop together
It is still not a replacement for fast home broadband.
If your home connection fails and you need to work for the day, Pro will be more comfortable. If you simply connect a laptop twice a month to answer emails, Visible+ is enough.
Why unlimited hotspot data matters
Traditional carrier plans often give you a fixed amount of high-speed hotspot data. Once it is gone, hotspot speed may fall dramatically.
Visible takes a different approach. It limits the maximum speed from the beginning but does not give you a normal monthly data cap.
That makes both plans useful for regular tethering.
You know the speed will not be amazing, but you also know a four-hour work session will not eat the month’s entire hotspot allowance.
Hotspot verdict
Choose Visible+ if you only use your hotspot occasionally.
Choose Pro if hotspot access is part of your normal working routine or your main backup internet connection.
Difference 3: Pro includes smartwatch service
Visible+ charges $10 a month for cellular smartwatch service.
Visible+ Pro includes it.
This is the single strongest reason to choose Pro.
If you already use a supported cellular smartwatch, the totals look like this:
| Plan setup | Total monthly price |
|---|---|
| Visible+ without watch | $35 |
| Visible+ with watch | $45 |
| Visible+ Pro with watch included | $45 |
Buying Visible+ and adding watch service costs exactly the same as Pro.
Except Pro also gives you:
- A faster hotspot
- Better video quality
- Two Global Pass days
- International calling
- Wider international texting
There is no sensible reason for a cellular smartwatch owner to choose Visible+ at the normal prices.
Which smartwatches are supported?
Visible currently lists support for compatible models from Apple, Google and Samsung, including:
- Apple Watch Series 4 and newer
- Google Pixel Watch 2 and newer
- Samsung Galaxy Watch 8
- Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 Classic
- Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra
The watch must be paired with a compatible phone.
Support can vary by model and software version, so check your exact watch before switching.
Smartwatch verdict
If you own a compatible cellular smartwatch, buy Visible+ Pro.
Done. Decision made.
Difference 4: Pro supports better mobile video quality
Visible controls the resolution of video streamed over its mobile network.
Visible+ supports:
- Up to 1080p on 5G Ultra Wideband
- Up to 720p on regular 5G and 4G LTE
Visible+ Pro supports:
- Up to 4K on 5G Ultra Wideband
- Up to 1080p on regular 5G and 4G LTE
This sounds like a large upgrade. In practice, it depends on your phone and how you use it.
Do you need 4K video on a phone?
Probably not.
A high-quality 1080p stream already looks very good on a six or seven-inch display. The difference between 1080p and 4K is much easier to see on a large television.
You also need:
- A phone capable of displaying high-resolution content
- A compatible streaming app
- A 4K subscription where required
- A strong 5G Ultra Wideband connection
- Content available in 4K
That is quite a lot of conditions for watching YouTube while waiting for a train.
The more useful Pro upgrade is 1080p video on regular 5G and LTE. Visible+ falls to 720p when you leave an Ultra Wideband area, whereas Pro retains Full HD.
If you watch hours of mobile video every week, you may notice the difference.
If you usually stream over Wi-Fi, this should not influence your decision.
Video verdict
Visible+ provides good enough quality for almost everyone.
Choose Pro if you stream plenty of video using mobile data and care about getting the best available picture.
Difference 5: Pro includes two Global Pass days each month
Visible+ includes one Global Pass day per month.
Visible+ Pro includes two.
Global Pass lets you use talk, text and data in more than 140 supported countries and territories. Included days can be saved, subject to Visible’s banking limit.
This produces:
- Visible+: up to 12 included days a year
- Visible+ Pro: up to 24 included days a year
Visible values each included Global Pass day at $10.
On paper, Pro adds $10 of travel service each month while only costing $10 more.
But that saving only exists if you use it.
If you do not leave the US, Canada or Mexico, the second Global Pass day has no practical value. It is not $10 you can withdraw or apply to something else.
A real-world example
Imagine you take a two-week trip to Europe.
With enough banked days:
- Visible+ could cover up to 12 days
- Pro could cover the full 14 days and still leave unused days
If you travel twice a year, Pro may save you from purchasing extra roaming days.
If you take one three-day international trip every two years, Visible+ is probably enough.
Global Pass verdict
Choose Visible+ for occasional overseas travel.
Choose Pro if you regularly travel beyond Canada and Mexico.
Difference 6: Pro includes international calling and texting
Visible+ includes unlimited calls and texts from the US to Canada and Mexico.
Pro adds:
- 500 minutes of international calls each month
- Calls from the US to more than 85 countries
- Unlimited texting from the US to more than 200 countries and territories
This has nothing to do with roaming.
International calling means you are inside the US and calling someone in another country. Global Pass covers using your phone while physically traveling abroad.
The 500-minute limit works out at just over eight hours of calls each month.
That is plenty for most personal users, although anyone making regular international business calls should check whether their required destinations are included.
International communication verdict
Choose Visible+ if your international calls are mainly to Canada and Mexico or you use internet apps such as WhatsApp and FaceTime.
Choose Pro if you regularly call international landlines or people who do not use internet calling apps.
Difference 7: Canada and Mexico roaming is the same
There is no major difference here.
Both plans include:
- Calls while traveling in Canada and Mexico
- Texts while traveling in Canada and Mexico
- 2GB of high-speed data per day
- Reduced speeds after the daily 2GB allowance
Do not buy Pro solely for Canada or Mexico travel. Visible+ provides the same core roaming allowance.
Two gigabytes per day is enough for maps, messaging, email, browsing and moderate social media use.
It may disappear quickly if you stream HD video, upload large batches of photos or tether a laptop.
Use hotel Wi-Fi for the heavy stuff and save mobile data for when you are out.
Difference 8: smartphone data and network priority are the same
This is worth repeating because it is where buyers are most likely to spend money unnecessarily.
Visible+ and Visible+ Pro both include unlimited premium data.
Pro does not receive:
- Better Verizon coverage
- Higher smartphone network priority
- More premium data
- A stronger cellular signal
- Exclusive 5G towers
- Faster uncapped smartphone data
Real-world speeds still depend on:
- Your phone
- Its supported network bands
- Local coverage
- Distance from the tower
- Indoor interference
- Network capacity
- Whether 5G Ultra Wideband is available
Place a Visible+ phone and a Pro phone beside each other, using the same model on the same tower, and their normal smartphone data performance should be broadly alike.
Pro’s speed advantage applies to the hotspot limit and permitted video quality, not everyday app downloads or web browsing.
Difference 9: annual savings favor Pro
At normal prices:
| Plan | Monthly cost over 12 months | Annual price | Saving |
|---|---|---|---|
| Visible+ | $420 | $375 | $45 |
| Visible+ Pro | $540 | $450 | $90 |
Paying annually reduces the gap between the two plans.
Monthly, Pro costs $120 more across a year.
Annually, Pro costs only $75 more.
That makes Pro easier to justify for annual subscribers. You are effectively paying another $6.25 a month for the faster hotspot, included watch service and travel features.
The current $225 Pro deal
New customers can currently use SAVEHALF to reduce the Pro annual plan from $450 to $225 for the first year.
That is cheaper than:
- Visible+ paid monthly
- Visible+ paid annually
- The standard Visible plan paid monthly
- The standard Visible annual plan
If you qualify and Verizon coverage works where you live, it is the clear winner.
Annual service payments are generally non-refundable after activation, so test coverage first if possible and read the promotion’s renewal terms.
The average user
Visible+Premium data, good video quality, occasional hotspot access and a predictable $35/mo bill — most people won’t get another $120 a year of use from Pro’s extras.
Cellular smartwatch owners
Visible+ ProWatch service is $10 extra on Visible+ but included with Pro. Both setups land at $45/mo — Pro just gives you more for the same money.
Remote workers
Visible+ ProBoth plans have unlimited hotspot data, but Pro raises the max speed from 10Mbps to 15Mbps — noticeable on video calls, large web apps and multiple connected devices.
Occasional hotspot use
Visible+10Mbps is plenty for email, browsing, documents and occasional laptop work. No reason to pay more if you only tether now and then.
International travelers
Visible+ ProPro doubles your included Global Pass days from one to two per month — up to 24 included travel days a year instead of 12.
Canada & Mexico travel
TieBoth plans include the same 2GB daily high-speed roaming allowance in Canada and Mexico — no difference here.
International calling
Visible+ ProPro includes 500 minutes of calling to 85+ countries and texting to 200+ — not available on standard Visible+.
Mobile video quality
Visible+ ProPro supports 4K on 5G Ultra Wideband and 1080p elsewhere. Visible+ caps out at 1080p on Ultra Wideband and 720p on regular 5G/LTE.
Best raw value
Visible+At normal prices, Visible+ gives most users everything they need for $10 less a month.
Best current promotion
Visible+ ProThe current $225 annual Pro deal works out to $18.75/mo for the first year — nothing else in this comparison comes close.
Visible+ vs Verizon: how much are you saving?
Visible+ normally costs $35 a month.
Visible+ Pro costs $45.
Verizon’s Simplicity plan has a normal price of $45 a month with Auto Pay, plus taxes and fees. A switching promotion can reduce it to $30 for eligible customers.
Verizon Simplicity includes unlimited premium data, 5G Ultra Wideband, Canada and Mexico roaming, satellite texting and 10GB of mobile hotspot data.
Compared with Verizon’s normal price:
- Visible+ saves at least $10 a month before taxes
- Visible+ Pro has the same headline price but includes unlimited hotspot data and smartwatch service
- Both Visible plans include taxes and carrier fees
Verizon is still better for people who want physical stores, wider customer-support options, shared family accounts, satellite texting or aggressive phone promotions.
Visible is better for people who want a lower, simpler service bill and do not need a store.
You can see how the carrier’s pricing has changed in our Verizon plan prices guide.
If you are already with Verizon, read our guide to switching from Verizon to Visible before transferring your number. Check for remaining device payments and promotional account credits first.
Should you upgrade from Visible+ to Pro?
Upgrade if you can answer yes to at least one of these:
- Do you pay $10 for smartwatch service?
- Do you use your hotspot several times a week?
- Do you regularly travel outside the US, Canada and Mexico?
- Do you make international calls?
- Do you watch lots of video over mobile data?
- Can you claim the $225 annual Pro promotion?
If the answer is no to all six, stay with Visible+.
The unlimited premium smartphone data is the same. Upgrading purely because Pro sounds faster will waste $10 a month.
Should you downgrade from Pro to Visible+?
Downgrade if:
- You do not use a cellular smartwatch
- You rarely use the second Global Pass day
- Your hotspot use is light
- You do not make international calls
- You mainly stream over Wi-Fi
- You would rather save $120 a year
Be careful if you have an annual plan. Visible may restrict downgrades until the final month of the annual term.
Also calculate your total bill before removing Pro. If dropping to Visible+ means adding a $10 smartwatch plan, you will not save anything.
Final verdict
Visible+ is the best choice for most people.
It includes the same unlimited premium smartphone data and Verizon network access as Pro. Its 10Mbps unlimited hotspot is good enough for occasional work, video and travel, while the $35 monthly price is hard to beat.
Visible+ Pro is best for smartwatch owners, regular travelers and heavy hotspot users.
Its $10 premium becomes easy to justify when you use the included watch service, second monthly Global Pass day or faster hotspot. Cellular smartwatch owners should choose Pro automatically because Visible+ plus watch service costs the same amount.
And then there is the current annual promotion.
If Visible+ Pro is still available for $225 using SAVEHALF, it is the best deal by an absurd margin. You get the top plan for an effective $18.75 a month during the discounted year.
The normal answer is Visible+.
The promotional answer is Pro.
