Sending and receiving files with Bluetooth
Synchronise your phone or transfer files by Bluetooth
Send and receive files from your W300i quickly and easily via Bluetooth

Important Tip: If you received software with the Bluetooth dongle you wish to use to connect to your PC then you may have trouble getting Bluetooth transfer to work. If you remove all the BT software you have installed and then simply plug the dongle into the USB port Windows XP will install its native drivers.
The PC Suite software supplied with the W710i handset will recognise this connection and allow you to either synchronise your phone or transfer files by Bluetooth, very easily.
Connecting the phone to the computer is a little more complicated than connecting a headset; however, you can do so by following these instructions:
- Select Settings (Figure 1)
- Connectivity (Figure 2)
- Bluetooth (Figure 3)
- Visibility (Figure 4)
- Select Show phone (Figure 5)
Then go to your computer:
- Select Start
- Control panel
- Bluetooth devices
- Select Add and the computer will try to find your phone
When your handset is found:
- Select Add and a window will ask you for the passcode (Figure 6).
- There is no default and you can choose whatever you like, e.g. 1111 or 1966 (Figure 7)
Both devices should now be happily in contact and the Bluetooth link will be treated like any other serial port.
PC Suite works in the same way and you can synchronise or move files around using the Sony Ericsson File Manager.
When you open PC Suite it should show that the phone is already connected (A small phone icon should be showing in the bottom right of your computer screen near the clock).
If not then:
- Select How to Connect from the top left of the PC Suite window and follow the wizard
- This will find your phone and select “connect” for everything to start working
