Nokia N900 launch date revealed

The Nokia N900 will be available in just a couple of weeks, and for less cash than an iPhone

Nokia’s latest smartphone, the touchscreen N900, will be released on 16 November.

The Nokia N900 is a Maemo-powered device that boasts a 3.5-inch screen, slide-out Qwerty keyboard and an impressive 32GB of on-board storage. For all its relatively high-end features, the N900 won’t be hitting the top end of the smartphone price bracket though.

With a £499.99 SIM-free price tag, you’re not going to want to buy it as an occasional use pre-pay phone, but in contract terms it’s cheaper than the iPhone and Palm Pre at present.

Mobile comparison site Omio has published details of the pricing of the device. It’ll be available from £30 a month, with a decent bundle of texts and calls included from Orange and O2. That is with a 24-month though, so we’d recommend you stay tuned for our review before jumping in with both feet.
