This is Why Your Landing Page Sucks…

Most landing pages fail because they try and do too much. Good landing pages keep things simple and lazar-focused

A good landing page that converts well always has three, key components:

  1. The CTA and offer is hyper-specific
  2. All the important stuff is above the fold
  3. And there’s no unnecessary distractions or fluff on the page.

That’s it.

The rest is all template design.

All the magic happens between these three, key points.

This is Why Your Landing Page Sucks…

It seems pretty simple, right? That’s because it is; most things are.

People just love muddying the waters and over-complicating things.

If you’re brand new to the concept of landing page, just stick to the basics outlined above.

I see far too many beginners getting bogged-down in the wrong things: A/B testing, advanced custom fields, CRO, etc…

Keep this in mind: you cannot polish a turd.

Good landing pages are simple with clear, concise copy and a lazar-focused offer.

That’s it. You do not need to rewrite the playbook.

How To Choose A Template That’s A) Not Too Busy, And B) Looks Professional

Get a decent template. I use Unbouce; it’s relatively affordable, simple to use, and comes with professional-looking templates.

Most email marketing platforms come with landing page templates too. I use Kit and it has plenty.

Find a template you like.

Try and find one that is simple and direct.

You’re going for minimal friction which means less is more when you’re talking about page design.

Once you have your template, all you need to worry about is the copy (the most important part) and the offer / lead magnet (the reason it exists in the first place).

Lead Magnets & Good Copy = High Converting Landing Pages

This is Why Your Landing Page Sucks…
This simple AF landing page converts 30% of traffic that lands on it.

I can’t help you with your lead magnet (unless you join our CR8TR community and reach out to me personally).

But I can share some basic DOS and DONTs when it comes to lead magnets.

Lead Magnet DOS and DONTs

  • Solve a specific problem that you know your audience has. Specificity is king when it comes to conversions.
  • Make sure you deliver a lot of value. If you think it’s good, make it great. Spend as much time as you can creating it. First impressions count, and this lead magnet is yours.
  • Keep the format simple. Fancy bells and whistles might look impressive but they can (and often do) render terribly on mobile devices. Notion templates are great, fully custom vibe-coded pages not so much.
  • You don’t need to use Canva or other expensive tools. Some of the best lead magnets I’ve come across are spreadsheets and Google Docs.

How To Get People To Your Landing Page

why you don't need 10,000 email subscribers

Once you have your problem isolated and you’ve created the lead magnet that solves it and you’ve built your landing page, it’s time to get some eyeballs on it.

You can use social media for this, a blog post, a YouTube channel. Whatever.

If you’re using social media and you already have a solid following, a tool like Manychat can really speed things up.

It’s not the cheapest but if you got your funnel locked-in the ROI should more than cover the cost of running a few campaigns with it.

For most beginners, organic will be the way forward because it is free which means blog posts and social media posts.

Don’t overthink things, just get out there and talk about it.

Be mindful NOT to overdo it, though. Build awareness around the problem you’re solving and then present your solution.

Be transparent, open, and ask for feedback etc. No one likes or responds well to disingenuous shi*t posting.

It’s a plague on Reddit at the moment, so don’t be part of the problem.

Or, if you want to speed things up leverage paid traffic via a quick and dirty PPC campaign.

If you have the cash, this is often the quickest and simplest way to get the right people seeing your landing page.
