Samsung App Store now live

Samsung's Mobile App store is now open for business - with a grand total of 300 apps on its virtual shelves

The Samsung App store is now live, with free and paid apps, ready for download.

The initial launch catalogue of just over 300 apps won't be troubling Apple's iTunes equivalent just yet, or any day soon - but it's happy days for Samsung Omnia i900 owners.

Currently only users in the UK, France and Italy can access the store directly from their handsets, but further support and a more comprehensive collection of around 2000 apps, is expected before the end of the year.

Users can download the booty over Wi-Fi or HSDPA, and if you're shelling out cold hard cash, you'll need a credit card to-hand for now.

Support for paying via your phone bill is on the way, although it's obviously a bit of a shame to see the store launch without this particular option.

If you want to add the Samsung app store to your mobile pop over to SamsungApps.com and download the client now.
