The Toshiba Android Honeycomb tablet will be superior to the iPad 2, an employee has said.
Rob Wilkinson, general manager of Toshiba Australia’s Information Systems Division said its Android tablets will cost the same as the iPad and ‘is superior’ to the iPad 2.
The high-level employee spoke to Australian website Smarthouse.
Wilkinson’s exact words were, “We believe that our device is superior to the Apple device, it may be a little heavier but it does have a lot of features that the iPad 2 does not have.
“We have a job to do convincing consumers to move to the Google Honeycomb OS. The channel for this device is in our opinion via the traditional notebook or PC retailer. They have the knowledge and the experience to sell it in Australia.”
Toshiba’s tablet features a 10.1-inch 1280×800 pixel display.
