Nokia has filed a patent for a tablet in the US.

The application to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPT) shows a tablet very similar to the Nokia N8.

The device looks larger than the Nokia N8, with a squarer screen like on the iPad and tapered corners.

Along the top of the tablet, there’s a 3.5mm headphone jack and other ports, although these aren’t detailed.

There doesn’t seem to be a camera on the back, or the front for that matter.

Previous rumours suggest Nokia’s tablet will feature a 1.2GHz processor and there are rumours it’ll launch in Q3 this year.

Which operating system the tablet will run on is anyone’s guess, after the company shelved MeeGo and Symbian. However, the company has said we haven’t seen the end of these partnerships yet.
