Details of several new Motorola devices were announced earlier this week, but none stand out more than the Droid Pro. A device which looks, to all intents and purposes, like it wants to be the first true business-oriented Android.
The current business marketplace is hardly flooded with suitable smartphones and represents one area where Android hasn’t fully exerted its presence, but the newly announced Droid Pro clearly has machinations of boardroom superiority.
The Droid Pro’s spec looks solid enough, with a 1GHz processor, 3.1” touchscreen, fully secure corporate e-mail support (including GmailT & Exchange), AuthenTec IPSec (VPN integration), 5 megapixel camera and 3G hotspot functionality all wrapped up neatly into a smart little FroYo powered package, with MotoBlur for good measure.
The Droid Pro looks like it could well challenge the heavy-hitters of the business world.
