Just as NOVA 2’s sneak peak trailer went live, Gameloft launched its sequel to Modern Combat: Sandstorm, Modern Combat 2: Black Pegasus on iPhone and iPod Touch.
Massively inspired by the Call of Duty series, in particular Modern Warfare 2, Modern Combat 2 is a first-person shooter set around our time now. You play as a soldier, fighting your way through various locations across the Middle East and Eastern Europe.
For single player mode, Modern Combat 2 includes 12 battlefields, 15 upgradeable weapons from real military forces, gyro controls, updated 3D visuals and hopefully, intense shooting action.
Multiplayer has not been neglected, either. Like with Modern Warfare 2 on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360, playing multiplayer games gives you experience which goes towards your rank. As there are 72 of them, you will be kept nice and busy. As busy as you would be getting to Tenth Prestige? We shall have to see.
Better still, multiplayer can support up to 10 players across Battle, Team, Defuse the Bomb and Capture the Flag. If this works smoothly and the controls prove reliable, this may just become the iPhone’s FPS of choice.
Modern Combat 2: Black Pegasus is available now on the App Store for £3.99.
Expect our review when we have slain enough enemies in deathmatch and conquered the single-player.
