RIM has today has officially confirmed the BlackBerry Bold 9780, which is its follow up to last year’s massively popular BlackBerry Bold 9700.
The new BlackBerry Bold 9780, which is powered by BlackBerry 6, has a few improvements from last year’s Bold 9700.
For example, there’s now a 5-megapixel camera present, which is hopefully better than the one present on the Torch 9800, and there’s more RAM onboard at 512MB RAM.
Looks wise, there’s not much difference between to the 9700 and the 9780 – they’re essentially the same.
“This new model builds on the highly refined mobile experience that BlackBerry Bold users already know and love and delivers a wide range of enhancements including a rich new user interface, a fast and powerful WebKit-based browser, broadly improved communications and multimedia capabilities, an incredibly useful Universal Search feature and a high quality 5MP camera,” said Carlo Chiarello, Vice President, Product Management at Research In Motion.
The BlackBerry Bold 9780 is scheduled to be released in November globally.
