Samsung has revealed that the 5-megapixel Jet handset should be on the shelf before the week is out.
The Jet isn’t a true smartphone, but instead a feature-phone that promises to pack in a whole lot of functionality at an “affordable premium” when it comes to pricing.
The name Jet comes from the 800Mhz processor that’s designed to make navigating through the menu’s faster than ever and app-lag a thing of the past.
As well as the 5-megapixel snapper, the Jet will have a 3.1-inch, WVGA OLED touchscreen display and lends itself heavily to being a multimedia machine with support for DivX/Xvid files and surround sound for improved audio quality.
The handset will run on a Samsung in-house OS with the customary TouchWiz UI sat atop; it will also feature the new Cubic navigation feature, although we’re not completely sold on that being much more than a gimmick until we use it in the flesh.
According to the release info the Jet is due for release in the UK before the week is out, so keep your eyes peeled for specific SIM-free pricing info any day now.
