Dell announced its release date and price for the upcoming Streak 7 tablet this week. With a price tag of 299 GBP ($498 USD) the Streak 7 matches the prices from competitors for similar tablets that are on their way to the market. The Dell is expected to hit shelves by the end of April, 2011.

The 1GHz processor equipped tablet will run Android’s Froyo 2.2 OS and be able to utilize both 3G and WiFi networks. The Streak sports a 7-inch WGVA screen up front, and a 5-mega pixel camera on the rear to allow for the on the go shutterbugging we’ve all become accustomed to.

According to slashgear.com, the Streak 7 will be able to access both the 3G and 4g networks offered in the United States by service providers AT&T and T-Mobile. This shot of under the counter speed gives the Streak 7 a hand up in the middling field of tablets that are saturating the market these days.
