Nokia’s first 8-megapixel handset, the N86, is now up for pre-order from the Nokia shop website and will be available from the 18th June.
We reported yesterday that the Nokia N86 had started winging it’s way to shops around the globe, and today we can report, for all of you keen Nokia fans, that the official pre-order page has now gone live.
If you’re looking to snap up Nokia’s camera-centric new handset to see what all the fuss is about, you’ll need to rustle up the requisite £399 to grab the SIM-free version.
If you’re more of a contract-dwelling mammal then we’ve heard whispers from Pocket-Lint.com that the N86 will be available from the 18th June at the Carphone Warehouse for free, as long as you’re willing to sign on the dotted line. However, the official page still shows an unflinching ‘Coming Soon’ message.
We gave you a fairly comprehensive run down of the key specs yesterday, but for those that missed it and are too busy to search, here they are again:
- 8-megapixel camera with dual-LED flash, variable aperture, mechanical shutter, motion blur reduction, wide-angle lens and autofocus
- 2.6-inch 240 x 320 AMOLED display
- 8GB internal memory, plus microSD expansion port
Interestingly, the Expansys website still has the same pre-order page up showing the N86 at a whopping £549.99, but something tells us that this might change in a hurry.
Roll on the 18th June; that’s the N97 and the N86 both launching within one day of each other, choices, choices…
