Kinect outsells Apple iPad and iPhone

More Microsoft Kinect motion-sensing console accessories have been sold than iPhones and iPads.

133,000 Kinects were sold every day in the device’s first 60 days onsale, compared to 120,000 iPhone 4s and 50,000 iPads.

Eight million units have been sold worldwide in the four months Microsoft’s gaming perpheral has been on sale.

The Guiness World Records confirmed the Kinect is a record-breaking consumer electronic.

“The sales figures here speak for themselves. We can confirm that no other consumer electronics device sold faster within a 60-day time span, an incredible achievement considering the strength of the sector,” Gaz Deaves, Guinness World Records 2011 Gamer’s Edition editor, told the Telegraph.
