Google Nexus Two ‘before Christmas’ in the UK

Reports have surfaced in City AM, a reliable business rag, of an exclusive deal between Google and The Carphone Warehouse, to bring the Nexus One’s predecessor to the masses in time for Christmas.

No real information has been made available on the device itself, which is currently being referred to as ‘Nexus Two’, though it is believed to be shipping with Android 3.0 AKA Honeycomb.

The deal marks a serious rethink in sales strategy for Google and promises to see the handset make a real impact this time around, following the damp-squid approach which held back the original Nexus One.

Whether Carphone Warehouse will make the new handset available with carrier subsidies is unclear, but the alliance between the companies is likely to see Apple shift a little uncomfortably in their seat and may force them to re-assess their micro-management approach to device sales.
