Samsung launches Android 2.2 Galaxy K

Samsung has officially unveiled its latest smartphone in South Korea, the Samsung Galaxy K, which is powered by Android 2.2 and has a 1GHz processor, as well as a 3.7-inch AMOLED display.

The device, which has a launch price of 800,000 Won (or, £450) will be available in Black and White and features Wi-Fi, 3G, the TouchWiz 3.0 UI and all those other Froyo-like delights, such as Wireless tethering.

Granted Samsung could have picked a better time to launch the device as it’s basically all about Windows Phone 7 at present, but given the success of the Galaxy S on a global scale, we can see why it’s not really all that bothered about Microsoft’s latest venture into the smartphone market.
