According to the ever-spinning online rumour wheel, Google is poised to release the SDK for Android 3.0 to developers next week.
News of the potential release date was first brought to our attention website, The Android Police.
Apparently, Android 3.0 will be geared towards tablet devices, which are reported to be “the next big thing.”
This will no doubt be music to the ears of tablet manufacturers who have been releasing Android-powered tablets this year as Google has always maintained that Android 2.2 isn’t optimised for tablets – although, this hasn’t stopped manufacturers using it!
Google is also reported to be removing the ability for manufacturers to add their own customisations into the OS, which is something that has been shown time-and-time again to cause delays.
Google Video Talk is also expected to be standard on all Android 3.0 devices, including smartphones and tablets.
