Three has confirmed that it will be rolling out the HTC Desire Android 2.2 update at 9am (October 14) tomorrow – and, if that wasn’t enough, the update will be over-the-air.
The Android 2.2 (Froyo) update brings with it improved 720p video capture, HTC Caller ID and HTC’s App Share Widget, as well as an improved multi-language keyboard and iTunes sync via HTC Sync.
As the Android 2.2 update brings a handful of improvements to your handset, you can imagine why members of the Three network may be anxious for the latest edition of their Google OS.
Vodafone announced its update for the HTC Desire in August, Orange and T-Mobile in September, and finally, Three scheduled for October 14.
According to Three, it would have liked the update process to have been more speedy, but the 2.2 version had to be tested extensively and approved by Google before it could be rolled out to users.
HTC Desire users are advised to back up their data and connect to Wi-Fi before installing the update.
So tomorrow around 9am, look at the top of your screen for confirmation of the update and enjoy the perks of the Android 2.2 Froyo.
