Contacts aren't just for names and numbers; you can add specific ringtones, pictures and lots more info to your phone book

With your Sony Ericsson W880i you can create contact profiles that include unique pictures and ringtones that you’ll see and hear each time the person calls. To create a new contact, press the centre button at the standby screen to enter the main menu. Scroll down once to highlight the Contacts icon and press Select (Figure 1).
Highlight New contact and press Add (Figure 2). Before you start adding pictures or ring tones, you’ll need to enter a name for your new contact, so press Add again to enter a name (Figure 3). Once you’re done, press OK to return to the New contact menu.
Press Right twice to enter the pictures and sounds tab. Now you can add a new picture for your contact by highlighting Picture and pressing Add (Figure 4).
You can choose whether to take a new picture or to add one from your stored images. Highlight Take picture and press Select and you’ll be taken straight into camera mode (Figure 5) so you can take a photo and add it straight away.
Once you press the shutter release, your new photo will automatically be added to your Camera picture folder and the file name will be automatically entered into the Picture field (Figure 6).
If you already have a photo, you can choose Camera album instead and then select an image you’ve already captured with your phone camera. Alternatively, add some clipart or images you’ve received from other phones or the internet, by selecting Pictures.
To set a unique ring tone for your contact, ensure you are in the pictures/sounds tab in the New contact menu, then highlight Ringtone, press Add (Figure 7), highlight Sound and press Select (Figure 8).
You’ll be prompted to select a tune either from your ringtone library or, if you have MP3 music copied to Memory Stick, you can choose from items in your music library (Figure 9). Folders will be listed according to artist name. Highlight your chosen ringtone and press Select (Figure 10).
You can add a video clip rather than a tone to your contact. In the pictures/sounds tab in the New contact menu, highlight Ringtone, press Add, highlight Video and press Select.
You’ll be prompted to Record a new video (in which case you’ll be taken to video capture mode) or to import a video from your camera album or from the videos stored in the phone or memory card. Highlight your preferred video and press Select.
When you’ve added the pictures and sounds you want, press Save to store your new contact (Figure 11).
You can also edit existing contacts to add new contact information as well as pictures and ringtones. Go to the Contacts section and scroll down to the contact you want to edit.
Then press More, then highlight Edit contact and press Select. From here on it looks just the same as adding a new contact. Remember to press Save when you’re done.
