Bluetooth - changing your W810i's name

Alistair Warmington

Before you use Bluetooth on your Sony Ericsson W810i you should change your phone's name to something distinctive - this guide shows you how

Before you start sending and receiving files on your W810i, it's a good idea to give your phone a unique name and decide whether you want it to be visible all the time.

By default your phone will be called ‘W810i’. You can change the name in the Settings; press the centre button to enter the main menu, then scroll down and right to highlight the Settings icon and press Select.

Now press right to scroll through to the Connectivity tab (see figure 1). Bluetooth is at the top of the list so press Select to enter the Bluetooth menu (see figure 2).

Scroll down to the bottom, highlight Phone name and press Select (see figure 3)

Here you should see the word ‘W810i’; to change it, simply delete the existing text and enter a name of your choice. We've chosen 'Know Your Mobile' naturally (see figure 4).
