Assigning navigation key shortcuts on the W710i

you can put your four most used features (such as texting or running) onto the four navigation directions on the standby screen
Access your favourite W710i functions quickly by changing the shortcuts on the central navigation key
Working your way through the menu structure to get to functions that you use regularly is time consuming.
To get around this, you can put your four most used features (such as texting or running) onto the four navigation directions on the standby screen – so pressing up on the standby screen, for instance, will take you to the Fitness menu.
Go to the Settings menu, and in the General tab (which should open initially), scroll down to highlight Shortcuts. Click Select (see figure 1)
Choose the key you want to assign a shortcut to (e.g. Navig. Key up) and click Edit (see figure 2)
You’ll then be taken back to the top level menu. Work your way down to the application you want to assign to that navigation key (e.g. Messaging, Write new) and press Shortcut to assign that function to the nav key.
Now when you want to send a message all you need to do is click up on the Navigation key. Result!
